Zelda:Link's Awaking DX

I just received Zelda:Link's Awaking DX for the GameBoy Color in the mail.When I popped it into my Retron 5 to my horror the game was not only in black and white,the playing screen was small like the original Gameboy color screen.Does anyone know if my Retron 5 needs to be updated,or is Link's Awaking DX partially incompatible with the Retron 5?Because I tried it in my wife's Gameboy color and her Advance,and it played just fine.Any information would greatly be appreciated.

    You probably should update your firmware as Hyperkin added some GB and Super Gameboy stuff (borders, palettes) after a bunch of people complained it was missing. I wouldn't doubt GBC got some love too. I think there's a video setting in the R5's menu to blow up the screen resolution proportionately to fit your screen (either scale 2x or fit to screen).
