Wii U - Invalid Disk

I've been playing a bunch of Mario Maker lately, but took a few weeks off as things were crazy with kids and work. I picked up Shovel Knight this weekend after waiting on a physical release, popped it in the Wii U last night and got an "Invalid Disk" error. Being a reasonable person, I decided to check other disks and confirmed that Wind Waker and Smash were also not loading. Based on my online reading, it appears my only option is sending my Wii U to Nintendo for repairs. Has anyone ever dealt with this problem? Any other solutions out there?

    My wiiU is currently being repaired for freezing up and controller connection issues, not sure exactly about your issue. I thought I was the only one having issues with the console

    Sounds similar to the ps2 slims not reading discs. I have 3 of them currently that don't work. Never had an issue with my wii u though. Sorry to hear
