Fallout 4 is for the Bargain Bin

This is a modern game problem but here's how I feel about Fallout 4:

http://retrogamingmagazine.com/2015/11/19/fallout-4-bargain-bin/

In short, I picked up Super Mario Brothers 2 the SECOND it hit Toys R Us.  Now I can't pick up Fallout 4 because it's not completes until it hits the bargain bin.  Anyone feel the same?

  • this seems like a troll post. everyone loves fallout 4 dude.

oh nvm your just trying to plug your cheap blog write up on that website to stir people up with a different opinion for no reason .Because one person had a problem you saw, then that must be the experience for everyone. LMAO. I dont even have the game and can tell this is a ridiculous write up.

    Sloppy spam effort 1/10

  • bargain bin my ass. I have it on PC and its amazing with a great story and game mechanics Its meant to be a PC game, Fallout 3 was shit on ps3 (i bought it after i lost my pc copy) compared to the PC version.
  • Nope. Game is Amazing and i like to support the actual developers of games i am into instead of picking up used games or bargain bin titles. I've put over 25 hours into the game on PS4 and have barely seen so much as a hiccup. A game with this size and scale is damn near impossible to put out without a few flaws and i've had a much more smooth experience with Fallout 4 than i have with previous entries in the series prior and with the Elder Scrolls series so i think we should be giving Bethesda praise for making an Amazing game instead of knocking em for a few people having a few problems here and there. Give those complaints to Bethesda so maybe they can fix em and make the game even better.
  • Personally I've seen some twitch streams and have quite a few friends who stood in line for midnight release and blah blah blah The only way I will ever get it is 50% off on a steam sale at a minimum....will probably wait for it to go lower than that TBH I don't think it was really worth the hype. I wanted to be excited for it but I just couldn't. Oh well it's not for everyone I guess

  • Spam Fail. Move along people there's nothing to see here.

    Much better !

  • Anywoo, yeah I seriously doubt anyone is going to agree with the OP, yeah its buggy hell every release as been at launch (FO3,NV,Oblivion,Skyrim,yomama) They will fix it as they always do. Personally only glitches or "bugs" I have encountered were just goofy things but nothing game breaking.

    I WANT PIE!
  • IMO Bethesda hasn't made a game worth playing since Morrowind. Fallout 1 & 2 were phenomenal but Beth ruined it with FO3. I skipped Skyrim and won't bother with FO4 either.
  • Let the guy think what he wants. The sales and overall feedback you will find online speak for itself.

There's always going to be that "that guy" when it comes to just about any video game or console for that matter. Let them have their opinion as it doesn't effect us in any way what so ever.

If someone wants to experience the game, they will find a way. If they don't want to play the game, they will miss out on what it has to offer and just play something else that makes them happy.

There's no winners or losers in the area of opinions as it pertains to the video game world.

Dude! Your first response to him I 100% completely agree with. I was just trying to be nice!

I'm well aware there's going to be a GOTY version down the road. If I enjoy FO4 enough (which I do), I'll wait until the GOTY version has been out for a little bit and then buy it used for under $25. Then I can trade or sell my original version of FO4.

I'd be curious to know how many people played/own the original Uncharted trilogy but still went and bought the PS4 remastered versions. The same with FF X/X-2 twice if you count the PS3 remaster AND the PS4 remaster. They're all forms of double dipping to some extent. Who am I to judge what people buy and play though? To each their own!

  • He might be plugging his own blog, and Fallout 4 may fucking amazing, but the man's right.

Bethesda's going to release a Game of the Year edition with bundled DLC content for a budget price once the hype dies down. So yeah, it's a matter of jumping into the game now while it's hot and everyone's talking about it, or waiting a year or two to enjoy it quietly on your own.

That said, somehow I always end up with both a vanilla release and a platinum hits on my shelf. Every. Time.
  • This is a clever way for folks to rip people off without them realizing it. It's a move for suckers and it works damn near every time.
  • Your new username should be Spamtroll
  • I'm just tired of of this way of thinking. Like the developers somehow owe you more than the game they put out. Or if there's a glitch or the frame rate drops below thee amount of frames per second that makes you the happiest the game sucks. That mentality sucks.

I blame the "Master Race" for this mentality.. Ima start drinking now... and actually play Fallout 4 instead of writing blogs about game I don't own..
  • Been playing since launch day on my PS4, zero crashes, 1 bug of some clipping by an NPC that happens in every large open world game. The article linked is flaming trash.
  • It's an absolutely amazing game. One of those games you play into the wee hours of the night and go into work like a zombie the next day.

I've ran into a couple of minor bugs but nothing that bad. Anyone who plays these games at release knows to save a lot just in car something glitches. Worst case you lose 10 to 15 mins of progress, and the game is so fun you don't mind replaying that anyway.

Easily game of the year for me.
  • Well I guess this did get everyone talking. Didn't read the blog on the link though.

I'm buying it if I can scrounge up some cash soon. I loved Skyrim and though I'd like this. Never played a Fallout game before but the tipping point for me was hearing that it would be set around Boston. I'm a Massachusetts native and that sounds interesting.

I have a friend in Boston, he keeps gushing about places he recognizes. Apparently they really did their homework.

  • I don't want to jump on Fallout 4 just yet either. I'll hold out 'till it gets cheaper.

I dunno, it's just not as appealing to me as it is most people. The graphics are just plain "okay" imo. Maybe I'm just an Elder Scrolls kind of guy. I favor more of a lush fantasy world rather than a desolate radioactive one.
  • I love Fallout, I've been playing the series since the first game but I'm waiting until I get a PS4 to play it. Plus I still have Wasteland 2 that I haven't had the time to play. So I have to sit the hype train out this time around.

Been playing a lot of BioWare titles to make up for it in the mean time.
  • I'll be honest I was not going to buy Fallout 4 knowing damn well a GOTY version would be made as they always have, but I pulled the trigger and got it day 1 and I do not regret it. I'll still buy the GOTY version when it releases UNLESS they pull some shit like EA did with fucking Dragon Age Inquisition and just give a voucher for the extra DLC instead of on disc.

Same here. I have a friend who worked at Harvard University for several years and she told me the street layouts in the in-game Harvard area are perfect.

Way more of an Elder scrolls guy here too, but I think that's part of the reason I'm looking into Fallout now. The series keeps rolling along and I've never played it and would like to finally give it a shot.

I played the Heeeeeeeeell out of Skyrim though. Scandinavian ancestry here, so a game about vikings fighting dragons was pretty much a bullseye for me.

Edit: And now two people chiming in to say that the setting is eerily accurate. Stop making me want this more, I can't get it yet. :-p

That's how I felt about Fallout 3 having grown up in that area.
