  • It's a quote of a quote - not directed at you ^

But agreeing about the "thread crapping " hehe
  • Yes any alternate opinion other than praising the overrated Walking Dead is unacceptable. The show is just disappointing now amd I'm not the only one who thinks that. I still watch it because I've invested 5.5 seasons of my time and I'm hoping it ends soon so I can see it through until the end. I'm rooting for the walkers now as well because almost every character is mind numbingly dumb. However I want the show to sway my opinion back. I'm not blindly hating on the show. I could get into deep discussions about numerous instances in recent episodes that make no sense. It's called my opinion. If you love the show then have a good time I'm not saying you can't.

I hope not -- I'd love to see Carl get taken out.

  • Carl's better than he was in early seasons, I don't mind him so much now. Most of that is from him being a dumb kid and not following directions, but it was annoying when that shit was going on all the time. He's grown into a capable survivor so that's easier to watch. It seemed like he was being a dick to Ron that last episode. Ron's kind of acting like season 2 Carl.

The problem with Carl is that he is coming off as very arrogant. Ron is just a plain Alexandrian. Mix the two with their history and well, things will not look so good.

Carl needs to take off that birds nest on his head though.

Sorry to break this to you but the comic is going on strong and is a head for like 3-4 more seasons atm

    - also Carl is a good character ( comic wise, but not bad on the show )
You'll see some stuff with him later on

Lol @ this.  Perhaps I'm in a different boat since I basically binge watched the show until the middle of season 5.  Still get crazy amped to watch this every Sunday night (usually late as hell because of SNF), however the 2-3 slow/filler/buildup episodes were essential but milked.  I compare your thoughts to the show Dexter, I invested an hour every week for years, just for the show to crap out quite a bit to where I almost wanted him to get caught.

I'm also in favor for a friendly *comics spoiler* notice for us non-comic bookers.  We could do the ol' white font highlight thing right?  Let me try it with a few obvious comic book related predictions:

    ***Comics Spoiler Discussion*** (highlight below)

    * Will Carl lose his eye next week?

    * Will Rick lose his hand?

    * Last week, was that our first glimpse into the Saviors?

    * Negan is confirmed/casted, will he end up killing Glenn?
  • Yeah i don't think the show is going to end anytime soon, especially not with the huge ratings it continues to get.
  • So theres a few things that bothered me with this last episode.

The last talking dead made note that only one day has passed since the first episode of the season.

So that means on the first day Rick and Crew leave to the quarry while Alexandria gets attack. On the way back Glenn falls off a dumpster and bumps his head, Rick kills the escaping Wolves before returning, Maggy tries to go find Glenn moments after the Wolves attack, and Daryl and friends get attacked.

Day two Glenn crawls back out from under the dumpster, Daryl and friends reunite and head back, house falls and break the walls.

Ok, so where did all the Zombies go from around Glenn?? The whole season thus far was about how the zombies hear a noise or see a person and relentlessly pursue that and never stop. Yet they just walk away from Glenn after what, a few hours?

And whats up with the Alexandria folk? They just got slaughtered a few hours prior, their sanctuary is enveloped with zombies, yet now they are all just chill again. They arent even done cleaning up the bodies, but the kitchen lady is relaxed enough to read a book now? The doctor lady has gone from scared moron to a skilled medical wizard, and the survivors are panicking over a food shortage.

--------------------( sorry typing this on the phone and it's tricky with quoting)-------

Ok this is kinda shown why the zombies aren't around glen at the start
If you notice they start walking away because of noise, which is by that can
And that leads me to believe that girl that was in her own hideout saw what was going on and could've tossed the cans to draw them away

Now as for Alexandria , the community is bigger than we think
So theirs others working on the cleaning, now some are training ,etc
People have to do what needs to be done even after a horrible event

    Did NY stop after 911?
Nope, people carried on doing their thing and others volunteered to help with the issues that needed to be done
We as a community break into groups and it shows with what has been shown

Ppl freaking bout supplies = freaking about another terrorist attack
The doctor now, she knows she has to step up her game because people depend on her now
Would you just not care and give up?
Or buff up and do what needs to be done?

The show doesn't really force feed you everything because you have take what you see and fill in the gaps

There's a scene where someone clearly distracts the Zombies by rolling an object (I think it was a can of food or something similar) away from where Glen is hiding. You can see several shots of the Zombies turning around and moving in that direction. Most likely it was Enid distracting the Zombies.  Also I believe that it was more then just a few hours that Glen was hiding under the dumpster, and this is represented by showing Glen dehydrated and searching for water as soon as he emerges form under the dumpster.

Thats a stupid analogy. The people litteraly just got done watching their friends get choped in to pieces, fighting for their lives, and killing to survive. All of which they have either never done before, or have done very limitedly. They go from that, to chill overnight. Like it never happened.

I get the dymanics that youre talking about, the issue I brought up was the timeframe. All of this has happened in like a +/- 12 hour period in the show, but the people act like its been months between events.

I will have to rewatch for the can scene. Dont remember that. As for the time, it was the afternoon when he went under the dumpster and morning when he got out.. Only one day has passed in the show, so he was only under for 8-10 hours tops. The show clearly shows the zombies leaving on the first day though. Again, I will have to rewatch about the can rolling.

  • I'm excited to see what happens in the mid season finale, For those comic book readers we all know (hopefully) what happens to carl.....*cough* douglas *cough*

As to who dies, I bet its Eugene, I thought he would be stronger after the Tara thing, but he's still a little bitch.

I used that as a scale. ( any big event in any small--large)
Big or small it's still a community that has to go on after a horrible event
I don't think you have ever witness something horrible happen in front of you and just go into shock/denial
( their are people that just seem to brush it off , not because they don't care but can't reach like maybe you would )

Ive seen my share, but am not going to argue as ive never witnessed a group of my close family and friends get hacked to pieces by savages right in front of me. I can only assume I would stop and read a book as well.

  • Also gotta take into consideration that not everyone is 'close family friends ' in Alexandria

Some ppl didn't like that lady smoking, maybe she was a bitch to people prior to the group making it into town.

You cant assume that everyone gave a shit about everyone

No other male/guy told the wife beater to stop, they let it happen ( being the only doc around helped with that but still)

So when he died , you wanted everyone to cry over it?
  • I'm just going to chock it up to plot holes and poor writing rather than argue about how fictional people may have been thinking.
  • Alright, so now they finally roll out with the "let us cover ourselves in zombie blood" again. I guess they do not wish to overdo this method, but dang, it just makes them look stupid for not having used this. I mean, if I was an Alexandrian I would of been like, "you've known this is effective all along!? Really?!"

To be honest, I thought Carl was going to say, "your dad was an a**hole, and so am I" and give him a boot out the window. That would have been classic!
  • Kind of a weak mid season finale. Nothing really happened

You may enjoy the comics much more. Infinitely superior writing, for starters.

  • I've pretty much stopped watching this show. It just drags on and on and the setting for the last season is so fucking boring.

I watched like 15 minutes of tonight's episode and I was yelling at the TV when the guy pulls on a knife on that girl, and demands the others put down their guns, and they do it. Why not just shoot the guy....painfully stupid.

well its a common show tactic. They are implying that if they barely miss or dont kill him with the shot then he will kill their friend or they accidently will.

Wasnt the part of the episode I was frustrated with at all. Morgan keeping that dude alive is way more annoying. It makes no sense. By not killing him you are endangering the entire community. You are saying others lives arent important which is against his philosophy. I hate morgan now. It gets to a point where I just dont even believe he believes what he is saying and doing.

Also nothing happened this episode. Far more annoying .

yep....like Andrea still being alive and, when she was, not being a helpless tool.
  • I think the thing that upsets me the most is that I have to wait 3 months to see Sam get eaten. I hate that kid.

Even though most knew Negan was casted, revealing him in  a "sneak peak" in the commercial break for Into The Badlands was just awful.

This one felt, too rushed and far too many things going on... it did not feel like a midseason finale. The best part was the exchange with Deanna and Michonne.

Yeah, the pushing of that Badlands show with Walking Dead teaserns was lame. This seaons was ok, but I definately feel it had some of the weakest elements since season 2. The whole morgan thing is played, the Glenn cliffhanger was pointless, and the finalle just felt like it was all filler. In fact, most of the episodes in this season felt like filler.

Im really surprised they introduced Negan so soon. I figured maybe at the end of this season we would hear his name.
  • Me and my fiance both love weekly series, horror, and zombies. And somehow we have yet to pick this show up.

After breaking bad this might be the next one we start.

Not gonna read anyones posts!! Already got some spoilers for breaking bad.....
  • how many cliffhangers did they leave us with? at least 5 or 6. i feel like everyone is too spread out and too many different story lines are going on. Like previously stated, it makes it feel like everything is just filler because they are not completing any of the stories. just showing bits and pieces of what 5 different sets of characters are doing. the character progression is moving at a snails pace now. It's making me lose interest.
  • Its amazing to see how much happened in the last season compared to this season. This season def had that season 2 farm vibe to it
