Black Friday GAMING TV's... Looking to buy a new TV for the Gameroom?
Ive had my eye on this Vizio 4K 70" TV M70-C3 for quite awhile now (2 months)
Ive seen it originally when it was priced around $2400 about 6 months ago, and its been on sale for around 2000 at best buy in the past but now this month it is on sale for $1700 literally Everywhere.
Does anyone have this model? Ive heard nothing but great reviews all over the internet and C-NET even rates it their TV of choice for Size/Quality/Price.
Input lag is low,
screen juttering is minimal
Native Refresh rate on this panel is 120hz with 240hz simulated (unfortunately like most 2015 TVs)
Ive been thinking about getting a Curved Samsung 65" as it is similar in price (and the Brand has obviously been more reliable over the years. ) But I am not sure how comfortable every angle of the couch would feel with it.
What do you guys think? bought a TV lately? have any of the TVs in question?

I've installed a few curved TV's, don't really like them personally. I'd go for a 70" flatscreen 4k over a smaller curved. $1700 is a pretty damn good deal, nothing beats having a huge TV for gaming.
Cant argue with that
Curved TVs are near useless for multiple angle viewing, and I've yet to see one that showcases the advantages of centered viewing over a comparable flat TV.
I idea, as I hear is to compliment the Human eye because we see everything from a round viewpoint. So "In Theory" Our from our prespective we should feel more Immersed by the panel in front of us. I have yet to hear anyone Clammor over how much more Immersed their experience has been even by the larger screens, with less of a dramatic curve.
Looking at them at the store they are Nice to look at Aestheticly but I just finished building my Entertainment center (Which is mainly why im searching for a replacement TV) and it like 16" Deep to the wall. I cant imagine a 65" Curved in Screen sinking into the thing without it looking a bit goofy.

Do any of the curved TVs have enough curvature to generate wierd parabolic echos? (or does that require a "dish" rather than just a half-barrel?)

lol, theyre not that curved
What I've heard is the Vizio tvs actually aren't that great and was the affordable alternative to Samsung or Sony; and in the end not a great TV due to cutting corners with material quality. In the end the Vizio will be trash...so I went away from Vizio and looking into the UHD and SUHD 4k Tvs from Samsung
I have a 55 inch Samsung UHD 4K smart TV and it was actually cheaper than the TV you're looking at with the sale figure. I use it for TV, blu-rays, PS3 and PS4. Then there's a 32 inch LG 1080p LCD and Magnavox 26-30 inch flat screen CRT for my gaming room (everything from NES up to PS2 and Wii).
I have no complaints about the UHD Samsung except there's hardly any 4K content available atm so you're never really pushing the TV to its full potential. They usually have a 4K demo playing in the stores to entice people to buy them. If you've ever watched some of the true 4K quality stuff on a 4K TV, it's quite remarkable on the eyes. The picture is best when you're centered in front of the TV but it's not OMG unbearable when you're watching from the sides either. The same applies with surround sound...of course everything sounds the best when you're in the center. Can you still hear when you're on the side? Yes but you don't get the "full experience" like you do when you're centered.
I do think the curved TV adds some depth and immersion when I'm watching a blu ray or playing a PS3/PS4 game. However, the difference in where you sit is similar to that of composite and s-video, in other words it's not a major noticeable difference.
Overall, it's cheaper to go with a standard flat LCD or plasma. In the early days, LCDs had a different light source but now LED has been integrated in pretty much all of them. Plasmas initially had burn-in issues but have since improved due to technological advances. Some people will swear up and down that plasmas are better but IMO they're only better in the first few years, then the quality degrades faster than LCD therefore LCD is slightly better in the long term. That doesn't mean plasmas are bad or will go all blurry on you. The phosphor in a cell of a pixel on a Plasma TV wears out slightly over time and unfortunately that's just an inevitable fact. http://www.rtings.com/tv/learn/lcd-vs-led-vs-plasma/cost-and-longevity#life
I still have a 7 year old 40 inch Samsung LCD in the bedroom that's full 1080p and still puts out incredible picture quality. If you're looking for bells and whistles then consider options like 3D TVs, curved TVs, smart TVs, or some combo. I certainly wouldn't get any fancy options unless you plan on going with something 50 inches or bigger.
Keep your eyes peeled on Black Friday, I'm sure there are some great deals to be had on TVs! Just make sure you pay attention to the technical specs! Sometimes these "deals" are on lesser quality models with lower refresh rates, less features, less inputs, lower contrast ratio, etc...

Wasn't sure how extreme the largest sets were. (since I've seen parabolic mic's with fairly shallow bowls, for instance)
I have some experience with "dome" projectors, and even ones that only go floor to ceiling (rather than wrap overhead) will generate parabolic-dish related echo effects.
(granted they are on the order of 180 - 210 degrees viewable)
I guess the idea behind the curved TVs is the same reason most movie theaters and IMAX theaters have curved screens. At least I think that's where they took the idea from...?

Thanks for your input on the curved screen
I have an LG 55" 3D TV that I love to death but The problem is I have it down in the basement and across from a L-Shaped Couch. 55" Just isnt Big enough to comfortably watch over the gap, So I built an entertainment center to house a 70" TV to replace it. And my Trusty old LG will replace the Rear Projection TV in the living room
I Figure why spend $1XXX cash on a 1080p panel when Who knows the NX may be the first 4K Console (I wish)
so that being said I would consider a 65" Samsung (possibly curved) or a 70" for the right price.
And I heard Vizios were Terrible for YEARS... I got a hand-me-down 40" vizio ages ago. and It has served me pretty well. But again Ive been reading that these new 4K TV's Vizio has been throwing the right components in them. According to alot of sources
http://www.cnet.com/topics/tvs/best-tvs/best-4k-tvs/
http://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/by-size/70-75-inch/best
No burn in either, so that is a definite bonus!
As far as brands, I always say Samsung of Sony. Best panels around. And watch out for the special store specials this time of year. A lot of times they are far inferior a products with the Samsumg name slapped on it, for example.
IF YOU HAVE TO GET A 4K TV MAKE SURE IT HAS UHD . WITHOUT THIS YOUR TV IS OBSOLETE.
I would honestly suggest putting the difference into an amazing 1080p OLED tv instead.
Get this tv right here: http://www.lg.com/us/tvs/lg-55EG9100-oled-tv
This tv is absolutely beautiful and has amazing performance for $1799. Your standard 4k tv's up-scaling will never ever look as good as this tv will.
