  • I love anime.
  • I never saw some of the older Anime some folks have been talking about, so I'll have to get my hands on that.

I got into Anime probably a few years back when a couple of my buddies recommended Berserk to me, which I absolutely loved. From there I've watched a slew of different animes and have enjoyed most of them.

Some of my favorites have been Last Exile, Trigun, Van Helsing, Gungrave, Gantz, Desert Punk and Samurai Champloo to name a few.
  • Oh, and how has nobody mentioned Cowboy Bebop?
  • i have over 500 anime dvds (officially liscenced stuff, not that hong kong bootleg bullshit)... i dont have cable and i work like a dog, but i usually watch 1 episode before i go to bed each night. i recently finished Texhnolyze, Witchblade, and Rahxephon, each of which was very good. i am now starting Chevalier D'eon.

You sir have beaten me in otaku-ness (I don't mean that in the offensive Japanese way). I thought I had a lot of DVDs. But you're right about the Hong Kong DVDs. I learned the hard way when I bought the Fullmetal Alchemist movie before its official American release. The video quality was horrible and the subtitles were so bad that not even the character names were right. These were western names too.

Now about Cowboy Bebop. Yea it was a good show but I feel like whatever can be said about it, already has been said. That's just me though.

  • i was never a fan of the anime they played on tv... it was too trendy for me. although, as a kid, i did love DB/Z/GT. cowboy bebop just didnt do it for me; however, coyote ragtime show is sort of like cowboy bebop, and i liked it much better. it is a short, 3 disk set, but it is enjoyable. personally, i cant watch an anime unless the animation is top notch, and even though akira is about as old as i am, the animation on those remastered dvds is astounding... it tops newly released dvds even! i just got the add-on dvd for bandit king jing in the mail today. that series (4 discs + this extra disc) had the best animation quality that i have seen, and it was a fun series too. i have been watching too much upbeat anime lately. chevalier d'eon looked too colorful for me when i put it in the dvd player tonight, so i am going to watch black lagoon.

if you need any advice on something, feel free to PM me.
