Crash 'n' the Boys: Street Challenge (not sure if this counts)
SSX series
Shippuu Mahou Daisakusen: Kingdom Grandprix (an import top-down shooter/racing hybrid for the Saturn)
Yu-Gi-Oh 5DS Wheelie Breakers
Big Mutha Truckers (only the console games, and not sure if this counts)
I have also heard good things about Sonic All Star Racing Transformed and ModNation Racers.
I still have yet to try the Sonic race games but I also heard good things about them. I am scarred still from Sonic R so I never touched a Sonic racer since.

I hear that. Even though the controls and camera for that game were ridiculously bad, they're made better if you can subject someone else to them as well. Grabbing a friend, struggling through some stages, and trash talking made the game much more enjoyable.

I never thought of torturing another person at the same time nor realized the game was multiplayer. I will have to try that but finding a victim will be tough.

I enjoyed Sonic R I think because I primarily played the PC version and picked it up for like 10 dollars. It looked really crisp for the time and smooth on my video card, maybe over 60 fps. I enjoyed learning the lyrics to the songs, and seeing the cast in 3D was a treat. I always wondered what it would be like to run through a loop-de-loop in 3D and this game answered my question. Finding the Chaos Emeralds and exploring the racing stages was fun.
However that game is obviously pretty bad from a technical standpoint and NOTHING compared to Excite Bots: Trick Racing, Sonic All-Stars Racing, and Sonic All-Stars Racing Transformed.
All-Stars Racing is very tight and a competent competitor to the Mario Kart series. One does not say such a thing lightly.
Transformed brought forward more of what made the first one so great and even reminded me a bit of Diddy Kong Racing. One does not say that lightly either.
The freemium aspect might turn off some people, but it's a very solid racer... especially if you play it on PC with a real gamepad instead of a mobile device. I had a lot of fun with it.
Love Excite Truck took me a bit to get used to the controls but once I got a hang of it I played it for hours and unlocked everything. Really would love to see this series continue. Found Excite Bots fairly cheap but really didn't get into it as much as the Truck one.
Blur is definitely underrated. And since I don't hardly ever hear about it in the forums, San Francisco Rush and Rush 2 are damn good games. Rush 2049 is okay, but I just don't think it belongs up there with the first 2. Kinda like Turok 3 is okay, but just not as good as 1 and 2.
Tokyo Xtreme Racer (Dreamcast one is better than the PS2 one, but either would do) and Top Gear for SNES. Also on SNES, Super Off-Road - The Baja is pretty fun. First racing game I recall that you can run over a deer.

Whichever SF Rush game had the stunt mode, I played the shit outta that one.

*shameless plug* That would be this one
or SF Rush 2049. Depends if you collected Mountain Dew cans for cars and unlockables. Both were great games.
Why isn't Burnout popular anymore? I really liked that series with Taketown being my top favorite. Didn't much care for Paradise, I mean its good and all but just doesn't have that same feeling I had with Takedown and Revenge.
There needs to be more super destructive racing games where you can really fuck some shit up, cars, environments, what have you all in the name of speed.
...perhaps I need to stay off the road for awhile.

x2
While I enjoyed Paradise, I wasn't addicted to that like I was Revenge or Takedown. Something so satisfying about the Takedown mode.
Sometimes I'll just drive around in GTA for hours.
I used to play a lot of Lego Racers as a kid, but I haven't played in so long. I feel like it probably wasn't very good, ha. I remember my 10 year old self getting frustrated quite a bit sometimes.
Wave Race 64 is my favorite racing game ever. This game seriously gets swept under the rug. It's rarely talked about. Looking at top N64 lists, it usually hovers in the 30s when it should be in the top 10. It's a Nintendo and Miyamoto game yet not many people talk about it. The graphics and music are amazing while the gameplay is simply fantastic and full of depth and strategy. The water physics looks and reacts extremely realistically and the water actually affects the gameplay. The level design is top notch and the replay value is through the roof. Aside from F-Zero, I can't think of another racer that is as much fun to play and with as much replayability. If you have never played this game, even if you don't really like racers, you should definitely give this game a shot. You'll be glad you did.

If you like excite truck, you should check out Excite bots
Yea I am looking at that one now. Since it is under $10 I will definitely pick it up.

Split Second

Motor Toon Grand Prix
Krazy Racers
Tokyo Xtreme Racer (loved this when the DC came out, total nostalgia)

Wasn't one of the Crusin' games you can drive though a mall, that shit was awesome in the arcade.

Only game I have ever played that I remember driving through a mall is this *Shameless plug dos*

Turns out the game was "California Speed" I have no ideal where I thought it was Crusin' USA/World.
