The collectard thing isn't even funny, it's on par with the idiotic "bro" stuff. Stardust seems to just be trying to get brownie points in a forum he recently joined by knowingly insulting members of one he's been on, or else he just has some social issues and doesn't understand wtf he did and has no sense of humor. His next plan is to start telling pope jokes on Catholic sites. But of course they wont be actual jokes, just a pic of the pope riding a dinosaur next to Jesus. All the while blaming other types of collectors for raising game prices, when people collecting his way are of course not affecting price one bit.

Whoa dude, that's a little below the belt, don't ya think? I posted the article because of the absurdity of it and i wanted others opinion, not because I think collectors who don't play games are **tards. And for your information, I'm Southern Baptist, not Catholic, and I've been a member on Nintendoage for four years. The only forum I recently signed on was pcenginefx, mainly to lurk more than anything. It's not about browny points, maybe stir the pot a little, but I don't appreciate the personal attacks.

If you don't like the personal attacks, then don't do shit to attract a personal attack.  What the hell did you *THINK* your post would do, hmm?

Are you honestly going to say you didn't think this would be offensive and piss off irk people?  The way I see it, you may be an asshole who's not admiting it.  Or an idiot who didn't know what he was posting.  Or just have a really bad sense of humor and thought this was funny when there's not an actual joke in there.

You didn't appreciate my attack, but I didn't appreciate your thread that attacked a large portion of the forum I consider friends.  (Ok I'll admit calling people on NA my "friends" is streaching it since I'm a hermit and don't actually hang out with them)  The way I look at it, we're not even.

And yea, I could give two shits about your religion, you completly missed that point I think. I'll never, ever bash anyone for what they do or don't believe in when it gomes to higher powers.  Unless said powers involve black magic and people turning into goats in this day and age, then I'll make fun of their religion.  I was pointing out how rude it is to post something like this where you did.

Edit: Changed piss off to irk, no one actually got upset, it's just a bit rude, nothing really insulting. Hate to blow somehting out of proportion

To me using the phrase "collectard" and purchasing "cornball cocksuckers" are equally negative. Seems like your justifying when it's ok to enjoy ignorance as comedy.

One uses a term society finds offensive as a majority and lumps it with the majority of this site to offend most of the users.

The other is a rediculous made up term that childishly mixed two random offenses that was iconicized here because it was so over the top and, well, corny.  It didn't combine to make a more powerful slur, unless you identify as a cornball cocksucker.  If that is the case, then I apologize.

Jerk is negative, but if I use it here as a descriptive slur, it won't offend anyone who wasn't targeted by me personally.  Collectard is a bit more powerful than that, whether you admit it or not, agree with it or not, or don't care or not.  I don't have a problem with people not caring one way or the other on the topic, but don't try to make a quantum leap and say this negative is the same as that negative.  Context is everything here.
  • Why is this being debated? One is clearly a term aimed at insulting the people on this forum while the other is an inside joke on this forum based on a thread posted by a guy from that other forum that most likely coined the first phrase.
  • Yeah, this is the dumbest thread I've seen on the site. I shed a tear each time it's bumped.
