I noticed that Mario Galaxy 2 was coming to wii u VC. Does anyone know if you can use the pro controller or at least the gamepad instead of the nunchuks?
Well that stinks....that wii remote and Nunchuk ruined the Wii for me. I wonder if they'll tweek future releases for compatibility with pro controller
I used to feel this way, but then I just started thinking of it as a really big joystick that wasn't attatched to anything. I've learned to really like the wiimote since then. I hope Nintendo keeps supporting a version of it for the NX.

I can definately see what youre saying. Innovation is great but mandatory innovation is a dealbreaker, at least for me. I tried to get used to it but never caught on.
You can play with other controllers but In Dolphin Emu. I'm pretty sure this route is not for you since you need a high end machine to emulate SMG2 but it's possible to play with other controllers like the Wii U Pro Controller. I play Rodea The Sky Soldier with a PS3 Controller.

Just got a Wii U, but from my understanding you cannot use the nunchuks.
nunchucks work with the sensor bar attached to the wii u.
