Zero the kamikaze squirell CIB mint should i have signed by develepor?

Now i know the value of zero CIB but am wondering if the signature of the develepor

would add or decrease value. It would be sweet to have the signature but am not sure about

signed games (if it adds or decreases value). Especially on a mint copy, any help would be greatly

appreciated.

  • I don't believe it would add much, if any. Is it for your collection or purely to sell? If it's for your collection and you dig that sort of thing (autographs) I say go for it.

Yes it's definatly a keepe, but was wondering if it would hurt the value for future. Cause you never know about mint games.

I honestly do not know and don't want to give you false information but this thread here should help you out (I hope!) - http://nintendoage.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=5&threadid=110130

  • If I was looking for a nice Zero CIB, I would definitely not go after one with the signature of the developer. So in my eyes, it decreases value.
  • yes that's what I'm kind of thinking. I usually look at signed games with ridiculous prices and just laugh.

In the case of getting a signature for free I wasn't too sure.
  • As lame as this may sound, couldn't you get a box protector for it and have them sign that? That way, when in the protector, it appaers to be autographed... I dunno, just an idea.
  • I did ask him to sign a piece of paper with the marker.
  • Decreases. These aren't sports jerseys. The vast majority of people won't know who produced the game, let alone how to verify that person's signature.
  • Just have him sign one of the inserts lol

But that would decrease the value!

  • The white super nintendo insert that comes in nearly every games thats already completely worthless?
  • I have seen it increase value on occasion. In this case I don't think it would, being a developer that the majority of people don't know. However if you were to have a MTPO signed by Tyson I bet it would increase the value. If you are worried about a decrease in value I would suggest avoiding a personalized autograph.

Ah, I was thinking a manual or poster or something. This instantly makes complete sense.

  • You could have him sign an outside clear box protector for the CIB perhaps?
  • I had a feeling it might decrease that is why I am getting it signed on a separate piece of paper.

Even though it was a cool idea I thought I would get opinions first, thanks everyone.

    What an odd suggestion.

He was the first to suggest it without spelling mistakes

If you are referring to appaers then you are the first person to say something about that. I almost always spell it that way, even in texts, just to see if anyone ever says anything. It's lame, I know, but I gotta get my kicks somehow!

  • If you don't want to have sharpie on the CIB itself, the box protector around it would make it appear signed but not actually "damage" the box. Would still look cool while displayed as well. I've seen high valued sports/magic cards signed in this fashion before as well.

Huh, I always imagined that a signed sports card would demand a value increase. How odd.
  • Decreases condition. Monetary value is in the eye of the beholder.
  • I have to agree with the consensus here, signing would lower value and make it harder to sell if you decided to do so.

I could see something like Miyamoto signed Zelda or Mario box increasing the value because he's arguably the most famous game developer in the world, but outside of that, I wouldn't personally do it on the box.
