On my last game I was able to defeat Robo-Manus without dying once, and I finally learned the gears in Terra Tubes. The third gear is by far the worst because you have to jump through the water and make the jumps without missing a beat. The fourth is easy as long as you remember right, left, right, left.
The underwater section seems like it would less stressful than the gears, but those little fish are difficult to hit and difficult to avoid. Ugh.
I'm getting SO CLOSE to finishing Terra Tubes! I'm in the home stretch now. Practice makes permanent!
The under water gears is the furthest I've gotten.
The part after that is easily the hardest in the level, "but" you can continously get that 1up by the shark at the checkpoint so you would really have to shit the bed....once you get to that point the level is complete you have unlimited tries.
Also, I'm glad I own and play exclusively on a CRT. I can't imagine attempting this otherwise. I assume you guys have a CRT for this game if you're serious about completing it?

I dont expierience any lag on my LCD when I use the actual console. When I use my Retron 5 I get a noticeable amount though, but only on certain games for the NES. For example, I cant play SMB on it.
With that being said, I couldnt beat this game if my life depended on it. I have used game genie codes and still cant even make a dent on it. This game is the devil.
BTW, I'm taking a quick break from Battletoads to beat Super Mario Bros. 2 which I just got in the mail the other day. I don't think I ever played this all the way through without using warps. I've made it to 5-3 6-1 so far.
Could never get past the Turbo Tunnel. Then again I was always forced to play along with my younger brother. Parents thought it would teach adequate teamwork skills.
