Nosferatu is pretty good if you enjoy Prince of Persia type games, and the horror aspect is pretty neat if you are into that. I'll admit that it isn't a great game but if you can get into it, it is pretty fun.
I played Super Chase H.Q. the other night when bimmy was over and I must admit that we had quite a bit of fun with that one.
Really? I never could get into that one. It was one I got as a kid, so my limited options saw me return to it several times in an effort to get some enjoyment out of it.
Pretty much, you just catch up to the bad guy, they shoot at you and all to can to is try to smash their car up without getting yours too smashed up in the process... Did I miss anything? Is there another game mechanic that I failed to see? (I'm genuinely curious)

You did not miss a thing! Honestly it isn't a mindblowing work of art but it was quite fun for us. Beer may have helped. The sequel (for the Genesis), Chase H.Q. II, looks to be a bit more varied, but I have yet to try that one. IF you haven't played it in a while maybe give it another shot, who knows?

Hidden in your reply, I think I found what I was missing back then!
"US" - meaning with a friend
"BEER" - meaning beer
I don't doubt that you guys had fun with it, but I still have a pretty clear memory of playing it and I doubt it's the type of game that I'll ever enjoy playing sober and solo. haha

This is a very fair assessment! Bimmy always bring an entire backpack full of games over and usually they are stinkers but we do find some good ones. Bimini Run (no relation!) for the Genesis is a really neat two player game that, while it's not for most, is fun for a little while. Not sure why I mentioned that one of all games, though... Hmm.

That sounds like fun. Kinda reminds me of what I do with my friends (only they usually come to my place).
Instead of having them choose from a backpack, I have them choose from a certain row on the shelves. It's a lot easier to pick when your options are reduced, and it leads to playing games that you wouldn't normally think of.

He always comes out to my place as we can be as wild and crazy as we like. The only problem there is that he has the massive collection and I probably own 100 games at best. But we do have our fun, yessir.
Do your friends typically know about most of the games you have or are they a bit less into it?

They're less into it, but they are mostly familliar with the big names. Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong, Mega Man, Sonic, etc.
A couple of them really enjoy the older games, but they'd never take the time to find and acquire the games themselves.

I suppose I am lucky in this regard as bimmy has got virtually any NES game I could ever want to play... And then some that I never wanted to but did anyhow. Action 52 springs to mind...
Yeah I have an assortment of friends that love my retro game nights. But none of them would know what anything past the most popular 25-50 games on the system are, or seek them out themselves.
If you dont mind the Super Famicom theres Back to the Future 2, an awesome amount of Fighting games (Like Gundam, Sailor Moon, Dragonball z, Godzilla, Ranma and some really unfamilar Anime/VG Spinoffs like Variable Geo and GAL Fighters)
Also there's Star Fox 2 if you're into the REPRO Scene.
I Highly recommend it if you're looking for something a bit unfamiliar but still officially NINTENDO

I'll second Sparkster, haha.
Thanks to Oraotaku for that!! (packed & shipped like a champion) Lots of cool artwork and bright colours. Fast paced, good music, and neat bosses.
As for games that I like that aren't really well known... I'm still trying to find them all myself, haha. Does Sunset Riders count? (that was a joke)
I can tell you some that held my interest that most haven't played:
"The Addam's Family" (same as the Genesis version; not sure why I liked it enough to finish it)
"Axelay" (shooter that uses the SNES' unique abilities right away)
"Krusty's Super Fun House" (probably hasn't aged well but I was hooked on the puzzles)
"Tetris Attack" (fave game on the platform; great music; more animated than the N64 version)
"Kirby's Dream Course" (super deep; complex yet fun; great music)
"Tiny Toon Adventures: Buster Busts Loose" (amazing level variety for a platformer)
Another vote for "Sparkster" AKA "Rocket Knight Adventures." I only played through the Genesis RKA version after getting it from a Wal-Mart value bin, but it was great!

Loved Uniracers. Oddly, the copy I kept renting from Blockbuster Video had the old style cartridge shell. This was back when Rockstar was still crazy in-love with Nintendo and they put Easter eggs in the game, like "Not cool enough" when you tried to name your racer "Sega" or "Sonic." Of course, it didn't allow profanity either.
They put a lot of character into inanimate and abstract objects. I loved the way they would "look" behind when another racer was catching up and that little bouncing 3D-rendered flipping arrow from the menu. That arrow was apparently ripped and used on many '90s websites. I'd see it online almost daily!

Arcana. I don't even like dungeon-crawlers, and I really got into it because the graphics/animation and music are out of this world. Of course, the in-game map doesn't hurt, either
Comments
Uniracers? Is that one well known?
That was a big hit amongst the Unicyclers Club of America.
lol well with that big of a demographic, Im sure it was a hard one to miss

Love me some Uniracers. I don't think it is very well known.
Firestriker! Shit I said to much, still need this one
Yep, also one I don't have because I don't feel like paying the going rate. Not a complaint just a statement It looks really interesting though.

Pocky & Rocky 2
Sonic Blastman II
Super Nova
Super Strike Eagle (Decent, the worst of this list though.)
The first Pocky & Rocky was mentioned, the second (third) game is great as well!
Robotrek, Soul Blazer and Zero need some love.
Sell me on Robotrek. I have the game, but I just couldn't get into it the first time I tried to play through it.
I just sold a copy I found to AirVillian.

Ill throw in Plok and cool spot as well.
Aero the acrobat was also pretty fun.

Space Ace, Spawn, Bebe's Kids, Pit Fighter, Rex Ronan, Captain Novalin, Rise of the Robots, Batman Forever.
You heard it here first folks.
