So... I admit missing this one the first time around and have always wanted to play it. Should I suffer through the blocky polygons or just play this remake when it does release?
jonebone, its so worth it. one of the few games that can make any modern game look like a piece of turd. music and story alone are worth it, you won't hear many chilling tracks like this in modern games. truly a one in a life time expierence, in my point of view(although im probally overselling it in some peoples eyes.) i played this really young and its left a deep impression most modern games cant even hope to achieve(except mgs5 gameplay). its one of the few games i know i have the possiblility to get a platnium trophy on the playstation network LOL!

FF7 and suffering do not go in the same sentence man trust me this game is a masterpiece, play the original and enjoy it.
If you really want to play a slighty better version play the steam/ps4 version.

I agree with everything he says, I honestly do not understand how someone could possibly say ANYTHING negative about this game it is a very emotional experience like I have previously stated.
Everytime I go back and play it it just wows me how in my opinion no game since FF7 has come out has been even close to being as good.
If the remake just looked like this with an updated combat system I'd totally be satisfied. (I know this is a PC mod)
This is exactly what they needed to do.....do they not think that would sell well? People would eat that shit up like crazy.
have you seen how big FF7 is? it would be insanely difficult to do that with modern day graphics in a reasonable time frame. not to mention, theres opportunity to clarify certain things.
Well really it isn't "that" big especially compared to 8 or 9.
Really it is just 2 discs, the third only consists of a single area where 8 or 9 is much more filled out.
I still won't disagree with what you said completely though it is a big game.
In the context of Final Fantasy games though it is easily one of the shortest.

That is how I am taking it as well...it will just be a new game, the hardcore/nostalgic mindset in me wants just a dressed up shot for shot remake.
The rational person in me however knows it is a 20 year old game and times have changed in the video game world.
