Competition Pro Joystick

I'm sure Speedy can help me with this.  I just got this in today.  Any info on it would help.  A pic of the box would be great.

Speedy, do you have one of these?  I collect CIB accessories, but I pick up loose stuff until I can find a CIB one to replace it.

  • What does the joystick look like (there's two different CP controllers and two different joysticks)?
  • Sorry, I meant to post a picture.  I just got back from a little vacation.  Here it is...

  • Ahh, that's the Competition-Pro STAR, there's also a black one with red buttons, the 5000. It's a pretty rare joystick! It's unlicensed, but the Competition-Pro joysticks (both the transparent blue and the solid black versions) are the preferred joysticks for Amiga users (the Amiga versions) because of Happ Control's high quality. I hadn't seen one in the UK before...I've got a CIB German version, and I've seen a CIB US version as well in wrldstrman's collection (http://new.photos.yahoo.com/wr...94928803725072984/47). Here's a picture of the one from my collection:

If I'm not mistaken, the joystick specifications on the box are in German for the German version, and in English for the US version. If you want to see a pic of the black version, let me know.

Pretty good find btw, but I hope the shipping didn't add up for you. image
  • It ended up being GBP 14.00, which was around $28.00.  I probably overpaid, but I thought it was pretty cool looking.  I wish I had a boxed one though.  I usually buy loose stuff until I can find a boxed one.  Then I sell the loose one and it helps cover the cost of the boxed one.  I do that for most of my accessories.
  • Yeah, I used to do that as well, but I've learned that sometimes CIB ones can be bought for cheaper than loose ones as prices fluctuate a lot for NES accessories. The shipping cost also weighs in heavily, so reselling the loose ones for a profit isn't really an option...and since I want a CIB collection I figure I might as well wait for the CIB ones to pop up image
