Part of the reason I wantched the Direct was to find out who won the poll, and I was disappointed that all they told us was that Bayonetta placed in the top 5. From the way they phrased it, it sounded as though the highest placing characters weren't feasible(possibly Banjo or Ridley). Ah well. As for the new characters, Bayonetta could be cool, but another Fire Emblem character? Really? And then they tease us with a Mii Costume of Geno. Overall, the Direct was pretty meh. Not surprising considering the recent Cloud bombshell.

I was honestly shocked they put her in for this reason. I completely dismissed her for this exact reason. Seems ridiculous compared to the other characters, I definitely give you that. I really like the Bayonetta series and am not a huge Smash Bros. fan so I can see why I am bias towards the decision. I definitely understand why people would be pissed about it considering some of the other contenders. I really wish they revealed all the top votes.
It was pretty underwhelming. Bayonetta and Cloud are neat to have. I was hoping with Square involved with Cloud that Geno would make a debut as a new character and not just a costume. Oh well. Hopefully more third party/indie characters get involved in future installments if Smash. The roster is still great and I'm glad they're lengthening the relevance of this game a year after its release
I think like most of you, I'd like to know who was #1 in America. And also it's so bittersweet seeing Geno as a costume rather than a full fighter. Not thrilled about Bayonetta but whatever. I barely play Smash anymore anyway.

Yeah the whole problem with not buying her is she would still be part of the online play equation. But oh well. I thought Nintendo was safe from putting hyper-sexualized women in their games but I guess its a sign of the times. Too bad.
