I've been posting around, but never "formally" introduced myself
I'm frantik.. been into NES since they first came out when I was 5. I was more into SNES back in the day, but these days I've been enjoying NES a lot more.
I started getting into romhacking in 2004, mostly with Super Mario Bros. I put out a mediocre hack back then called 'Super Mario 5000'. Inspired by Mario Adventure and other impressive asm hacks, I started working on another SMB hack, this time investigating memory locations as well as learning 6502 assembly. Over time this hack became Super Mario Unlimited, a huge feature creep of a hack which now spans across two SMB roms with 40 new levels and some really beautiful graphics and level layout. Eventually I will finish this hack, and it will be good. lol
Recently, Karatorian and I collaborated to port Super Mario Bros Special to the NES engine. This hack is in the final beta stages but a patch is available on romhacking.net
I've also been getting into NESDEV, learning to write whole NES programs from scratch. Check out my first demo which demonstrates "high quality" (7 bit PCM) audio from the NES
And finally, I've been collecting loose carts and accessories for a little while now.. mostly looking for games I liked when I was a kid, though having a hard time resisting picking up random lots of NES stuff off CL lol.
