2015 was much more of a collecting year for me. As I close in on my collecting goals, I have found more time to actually play the games. I would love to play more in 2016, and it shouldnt be hard with the way the $CDN is going!
Your 2015 collecting skills were top notch, tricky. You should wear the shirt from the Conkers press promo pack while you game. Also, did you ever see if the VHS in it worked? That's such a cool collection piece!
Haha, do you guys own a VHS player? Can you hook one up to flat screen TVs? Pretty curious what is actually on it lol.
Yes we do have a VCR and its hooked up to a flat screen. You should bring it over next time!
Hah I knew it had a name, but couldn't for the life of me remember. 'VCR' does sounds about right. Will do!
Do a no death run of Ninja Gaiden. 1CC Ninja Gaiden with sword only and no pickups.
I'd like to beat "Super C." For some reason this game is very difficult for me, even more so than "Contra." Some people think that it's easier. I've made it as far as the stage 5 boss and I'm lucky to get that far.
Whoa mama! No death run of Ninja Gaiden? Wow... I get squashed around level 2 I think.
As for Super C... I think the hardest level is the second top down shooter level. Stage 6? You will gain an extra life each level if you get more power-ups. Ex. Get the machine gun & rapid fire BEFORE spread each level if you can.
I find Ninja Gaiden more unforgiving (in terms of death from falls) but Super C is more relentless. When I'm playing Contra or Super C (I once looped Super C for 15.5 hours) I will rarely stop shooting. There's so many guys so you have to get them as soon as they appear on screen. I mean, that's pretty clear, I'm just saying.... it helps.
I think I've accepted the fact that I will never beat Ninja Gaiden unaided. Game Genie it is.
2016 goals = 1) Play the sweet games I got in 2015. 2) Get one good game I didn't have before.

I've come very close to doing no death runs of Ninja Gaiden, but I always die at least once. For me, a game with a sizable life bar is more forgiving than games with bullets and enemies flying around everywhere and one hit deaths. On the other hand, Ninja Gaiden has a lot of one hit deaths from being knocked back by enemies into pits.

Nice. I see what you're saying. Having the health bar certainly helps. It's the one hit deaths into pits that usually force me to rage quit.
No doubt about one hit deaths being tricky to deal with. I think that's why Contra/Super C gets the love & hate that it should. It's hard and fun but one hit deaths are intense.
My collecting goal is to complete my N64 set. Probably at about 230/296 right now, so it'll feel good to get that wrapped up. Just finished my 16/16 Virtual Boy set, and I think I have all the DS/3DS/Wii/Wii U/GameCube games that I want. Might have to finally get around to starting my SNES set.
I would like to beat some more NES games... 10 seems like a reasonable goal. I might like to add a few more titles to the collection, but probably nothing on the scale which I was buying this year. I have 90% of my desired games, and more than enough for gaming purposes.

Not having any goals, and using the word 'goal' as seldom as humanly possible.
For gaming, I want to focus on beating NES games for my website. If I can get past 50 games in 2016 I will consider that a successful year.
