Played a lot of good games this year. Of those that I'd played for the first time, I'd say Shovel Knight, Donkey Kong Country Returns, Link's Awakening, Castlevania Adventure: ReBirth and Castlevania: Bloodlines were some of the best experiences.
Of those I revisited, Fallout 1 & 2 were some late-year additions that I'm glad I played again.
This is such a hard choice because I beat at least 10 games last year and a lot of them were great. I really liked tingles rosy rupeeland, shovel knight, and drone tactics. If I had to choice my favorite though, it would have to be drone tactics. Incredible game that's similar to fire emblem and it was a nice spin on the tactical strategy game genre. I hope to play some more tactical games this year like the super robot and luminous arc games.
Favorite new game... Fallout 4. Just got a PS4 the other day and very happy with it. Especially considering Nintendo seems to have lost their touch and that Wii U is likely my last Nintendo console. I'm glad I finally made the jump to PS4. At least I know there will be good games coming to that system.

I'm looking forward to Street Fighter 5. I don't have a PS4 yet but am considering getting one just for that game. The development partnership between Capcom and Sony is working marketing magic on me apparently
Looking back, probably the best game for me was Bloodborne. I'm a sucker for a FromSoftware game, and that one lived up to the expectations. Need to get around to playing the DLC soon.

SF5 should awesome. I've never played a bad SF game.

Runners up would be Mega Man 1 and 4-6 (I had played 2 and 3 before)
Favorite old game was of course EarthBound.
