According to my video editor it looks to be about 148.7 or so from the black screen frame to the last coin. Missed the last warp pipe so it could have been a bit better. I think roughly 145 would be about as fast as this route could be done.
fastest to 50 coins. you can die if you choose to. This time we are going by the times on the Mario clock and not a real time set-up. You subtract the total times from starting number and add them up. (so fireworks and what not dont penalize you)
so if you finished level 1 with 275 ticks left, your time is 125 (or whatever) for that level and add it to level 2's time, or the time when you get your 50th coin (please pause when you get the 50th this time)
If anyone knows good techniques for this please keep quiet so the competitors are not helped.
At one point I had the record for doing this, in the world. If you can beat my time (which I have to keep quiet) I'll throw in a bonus.

dudes i am so stoked to be playing this much mario bros! we got this going on and it leads right into smb for the weekly contest. freakin awesome. i would be so down to start doing smb races more regularly. maybe like the one weekend a month.
this run is mostly a camera test, i am still working on strategy ideas, just wanted to get one up asap. the audio is meh because my wife was blasting the hairdryer.
I got 76 seconds with a 365 (35 secs) in the first level and a 359 (41 secs) in the second level. I could have timed the plant better on that last pipe and I paused a fraction late as well... probably could have been a 360.
New strat... 75 seconds. (28+24+23 or 372, 376, 377 left on the counter). I think I could shave this down 3 seconds with a perfect run (28+23+21). Might go for 74 tomorrow, but I'm not sure I'll have the time. I think 72 would be the limit of this challenge unless there is another path that is quicker.

78 clock seconds. i have been working on it but got kinda sidetracked on another project yesterday. i tried taking advantage of being allowed to die and staying in 1-1 but it hasn't gone much better for me. i'm going to get a couple more in before the football game but i'm starting to feel like its time for me to hang it up. i have yet to find any strategy that i think will cut my time down enough to win. great playing bogomil! this contest has been a blast!

Thank you! That's another great run. I got really lucky yesterday with that 1-1 run because the first part I got 372 about 1 in 20 tries. I almost always got 370 and would be lucky to get 371, so taking advantage of 372 was pretty much luck. I tired a couple times this morning and got 75 again, but I always seem to lose a second one way or the other with those coin boxes.
