I must admit, there's nothing like a site where I can sit back all day (well, all the time I'm in front of my computer) and discuss the first system I remember fully enjoying. I still remember playing RC Pro-Am way back then, and somehow managing to drive around on the tops of the trees...my older brother and a couple of his friends saw this, as well. I distinctly remember them asking me, "How'd you do that?" Being but 3 or 4 years old at the time, and while quite intelligent, not entirely understanding the concept of glitches, all I said as I shook my head was "I don't know." This was about 1989. Eighteen years later, here I am registered at an online forum made to discuss almost everything NES related (and some things that aren't), collecting NES games, and reminiscing about what was probably my greatest and most profound memory of the NES days. To all those that make the site great, congrats on one year, and keep up the great work.
Happy birthday NA! Sorry I haven't posted much in the last year... lol. I do come here quite often for the database though; I was checking out the manual for Guardian Legend only a few minutes ago. Having all those scanned manuals in one place is great.
Congrats on the anniversary! Your hard work is paying off as this site IS the preeminent NES haven. No one comes close. Thanks for all your blood, sweat and tears - you have certainly brought together a group of very cool, very nice folks for a worthy cause - Nintendo and community.
Happy belated bday to NintendoAge! I also want to say thanks to you Dain (and of course the other staff), for all of the hard work that you have, are, and are planning on () putting into the site! Also thanks to the members, for making the community what it is, and the threads interesting to read! It's amazing where this site has gone in the first year online, especially considering the difficulty of setting up a good community with the vast amount of database-like gaming and collector sites out there -- that really says a lot about the quality of the site and the admins + members IMO!
Edit: And to stay on-topic, I have a hunch that the e-zine is going to kick some ass!
When I built NA, I swore to myself that I would not use a black background, even though it's popular amongst gaming sites. Personally, I don't like the "underground" feel, as I think it's much less inviting than a clean white theme. Darker themes tend to attract darker personalities IMO, and I can do without all that
for the oldest users a black page was the design you'd use to protest in favor of global freedom of speech and information on the net. Hackers, warez distro sites, etc...and yes, almost all porno sites had a black "I am legal where I'm accessing from" click-in page. Circa 1995 or 96.
Oh yeah, I remember those days, and was a guilty participant. I've been an employed web developer for 12 years now, starting in 1995 right around the time the HTML 2.0 standard came about. In fact, I was one of the 11 board members of the HTML Writer's Guild in 1998, LOL!! I didn't get along with those folks too well
It's done. Sorry for the delay. It's been a rough month.
I think you'll all find it to be full of quality info from some of our best and brightest. In the future when I can, I'll chip in as well, but this time it was most important to give a voice to our staggering amount of contributors. Enjoy, and post your thoughts here. Dain should have it out early tomorrow (he's probably gone to bed tonight, again, sorry for the delay). -Dan
Great work dangevin, and all contributors. It's great to have such cool stuff coming from this site - although I am still reserving final judgment until I read it...
freakin awesome guys!!!!!!! THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO CONTRIBUTED TO IT!! Im printing one now and it truly looks great. Im very happy to be a part of a site where awesome stuff like this goes on. Very Cool and Thanks so much Dain for finally making a place where "true" collectors can come and have a great time. Very awesome man, this site is really gonna leave a place in history thats for sure!
Probably stupid question but where do we get a hold of this thing? It was mentioned it would be emailed, but I didn't see one show up, not even in junk mail
EDIT: OK, nevermind, I just need to browse the forums a little longer

Batty... "Not that there's anything wrong with that" but I think your wife would see things wrong with that! ^^^^^
but that begs the question... how far are you willing to go for a chubby cherub box?
Looking forward to this e-zine too.
I always liked old games, but I never realized how many other people did too. Thank you internets, and of course NA!

the gaming theme is nice but using white text with a black blackground ???
reminds me of myself with the first html page I ever made with MS frontpage...lol
for a retail store they have no emphasis on a webstore, except for the little one on ebay
cant believe they have an emulation section and that you can download emulators and actual game roms
I guess they like to live on the edge...lol
I just visited them for the articles
