Ken Griffey Jr. presents Major League Baseball Floor Display MIB

Okay,

Here is a unique item that I was able to get yesterday.  I was able to pick a Ken Griffey Jr. presents Major League Baseball Floor Display that is unused in its original box.  This item isn't like a simple cardboard display, its a huge display that uses poles, metal grid track, and is about 8 feet tall.  The thing looks like it is a monster.  It has also never been assembled and even has its original instructions.

I tried to find a complete version of it online that was assembled and on ebay and got nothing, so I was curious:

What is it worth?

And for the record, I got it for a 100 bucks.  In the condition it is in and being unused, I am sure that it is worth more than that, but how much.  I think it is worth about 300-400 at the most since it is baseball, but who knows.

Anywho, thanks for listening.

  • Sounds pretty sweet! It also sounds like it would have quite the three dimensional footprint in a house too ... Given the quality/complexity of the standee display that you've described, I would also feel confident paying $100 for it. Do you intend to assemble it and display it? If so, I for one would love to see some pictures of it!
  • Maybe a picture would help?
  • Yeah any pics? I'd agree that brand new and unassembled has got to be worth more than $100, but coming up with a price would just be a guess. Some displays don't have a ton of information. If it were Mario / Zelda you'd probably be looking at a small fortune, but Baseball would limit the appeal for sure.
  • I saw 1 or 2 of these sell in 2014 I believe. They went for right around $75-$100 loose. I don't think the box adds much value in the case of large displays, it's good to have though. The fact that it's mint (because of the box) is much more important IMO. Griffey is hot right now, and probably will be for a while, so the interest may be wider than just video game collectors. I'd guess the value range would be in the $200 neighborhood.
  • I will try to get pictures when I get a chance. Thanks all!
  • Were they the full displays? or just the cardboard of Griffey?

The full display is griffey on a large background that is held up by pipes and metal supports.
  • Nows the time to sell it. Griffey just got voted into the hall of fame so he's super hot. I could see collectors of baseball being interested in something like that, younger collectors love that sort of thing.
  • Hey all,

Added link to pictures. Let me know your thoughts
  • Found a similar tall display... though it had a good amount of wear and not the version with the poles. Looks like it was side dealed, I'd guess around $75-$80. Yours would definitely be worth more.

  • Hey All,

The display is definitely awesome, it is just really sad it wasn't one of the better snes properties. I mean how many of these survived in this condition? Ah well, I believe I am going to keep it because it is awesome for what it is.

And the best part. This was on Craigslist for over a month in an area full of retro game flippers.

If you decide to open it up and display it, please take some pics!
