I had just played The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars last night while writing. That has always been such a perfect rock album to me. I used to have a Ziggy Stardust poster in my bedroom. Whoa.
First album I ever owned was Ziggy. Played the tape to death. Literally wore it out.
Actually, come to think of it, that is the first Bowie I ever heard as well. Pretty cool!
Just listened to 'Changesonebowie' on my ipod while running the snowblower. Now I'm going to warm up with a little nip and 'Heroes' in honor of the man before my shower. Sad, sad day. Celebrity deaths don't normally hit me like this, but I've loved Bowie my entire life. Some of my earliest memories are of listening to his records on my dad's hi-fi as a little kid. Rest in peace, sweet prince.

It's funny, I knew of quite a bit of his works (music and film), but damn, I didn't realize just how much of his music I actually knew (without realizing it was him).
Sad to see such a talent go, but he fought the battle doing what he loves best; finding someone with that passion for anything is rare, and when they embrace it, they become immortalized. RIP Bowie

Never was a big fan, but he lived in my city for a long time and my father knew him from his former boss.
