Hi My name is Joash, and I'm a retro gamer.
So I'm in my basement three weeks ago and come across a box. Being curious I opened it and found my old Super Nintendo, Nintendo, and games. I immediately became excited as memories flooded back.
It's close to my birthday (7 or 8), I have been a gamer for a while because my dad got an Atari for Christmas a couple of years ago. Still an avid gamer he asks if I'd like a Nintendo for my birthday. I stuttered a yes through my shock (fifty dollars more then what my parents usually spent). They drove me to the local Toys'R'Us and we picked it up. I couldn't wait for my birthday to arrive so that I could play it. We get home and again to my shock my dad says "Do you want to get it out and play it?". You need to understand that for my family, when I was growing up, you never opened a present before the day arrived (Christmas, or birthday).
This all happened in just a moment as I opened the box. There are so many memories (which I may share later if asked) the craving to get all the games I loved and re-live my childhood for a brief moment. I quickly picked up a copy of Final Fantasy II (more memories) and instantly became interested in collecting. The bug had bitten me. I found RetrowareTV.com, which led me to NA. I love the E-zine, and the community here.
My collecting will be slow since I have family, but I'm still pretty young so time is on my side. Thanks for providing a place like NA. I'm looking forward to becoming a part of it.
Joash

On a side note.. RetrowareTV has been providing us with a LOT of new members lately
Definitely take your time -- there's not rush with collecting, and you'll end up spending a lot less if you're patient. You'll find a lot of good deals here from fellow members, too.

I posted in that thread that I will if I can. The only thing that would stop me is my wife and I will have a new 2 month old at that time. If things are well for wife and baby then I'm there.
Welcome Home
Ha ha yeah no doubt.
