  • Bimmy, how much heads up do you generally give on the schedule, or the first game on the schedule?  Odds are pretty good I'll have to buy whatever it is

I'm only good enough to make it into scrub league playoffs.

Hoping to have the time to shoot for Semi-Pro level this year (Silver).

The Pro Playoffs are for Nintendo living gods.

What are these playoffs you speak of?

    ???

Isn't the post season still the same?

Top scorers get into the Tier 1 playoffs (God Tier)

Next group of season hig scorers go into the Tier 2 playoffs (Pro Tier)

Last group of high scorers for the season go into Tier 3 playoffs (Scrub League)

I call Tier 3 "Scrub League" in the most endearingly way possible. Just scoring enough during the season puts you into some pretty serious company as far as gamers on this site go.

I've qualified for Tier 3 twice in my time here, but would love to sneak into Tier 2 at least.

The season can be long (and sometimes brutal - losing out in a top 10 spot for the week by just a few points).

skinny, you were a trooper when I when up against you. Did bimmy and gui change up the post season format?

OH my fault Santa. Your right on with the tier system. I thought you meant you were competing in a different league or something specifically for Rc pro am

I think they're the summer contests. I wouldn't mind some RC Pro Am myself... Maybe RC Pro Am 2 would be great too!

You've already got one shooter icon, so there's no reason that you shouldn't be contender again this year.

I would like to add a platformer icon.

You are a top tier gamer around here ,when you participate

im pretty sure you crushed me in Rc pro am.

I was able sneak in the top tier summer tourney (if only through consistently posting a score each week) and snag 3rd place but bertsampson and Red handed it to the rest of us.

A lot of it is just luck of the draw. I'm sure that you'll do fine as long as you stick with it.

I'll leave this here just in case.

I usually try to get the schedule up a couple weeks before the contests start.  The first several contests are usually really common games so people won't have to go out and buy games right away.  I try to save more uncommon games for later in the year so people will have plenty of time to acquire them.  The first contest for 2016 is going to be a game that everyone will likely have in their collection

Yes, there will be.  The target time is early February.

Even though I'm retired from official competition, I still can't wait to see what new games are on the schedule this year!

I currently have 6 games on the schedule that will be brand new to the contests in 2016.  However, this could still change if I discover rules complications and/or better games.  I also have a large handful of first-time games I'm considering for this year.

Bimmy you are the best! I can hardly contain myself the joy of a New Years weekly contest. Yes! Yes! Yes!

I have what I think are some exciting games in the lineup for this year.  The schedule isn't complete yet, but it is getting there.  I hope everyone will be just as excited to play the chosen games this year as I am to share them with you

With all of the ideas and suggestions that have been offered up over the last few months, I'm interested to see how the final format turned out. It looks like it will be another great year!

If you need help checking into any potential rules issues, shoot me a PM and I'll see what I can find out.

Is the new season still on track to start in the next few weeks?

Yep, it should be.  guillavoie and I are finalizing the list of games and we should have everything ready to go in the next couple weeks.

  • I'd say, this Sunday or the next one guaranteed

Good to hear! Will the full schedule be posted before the first contest starts?

It should. If the contest starts Sunday, the full schedule might be up slightly after the first contest is announced, but it could be before as well.

  • Can we get a spoiler on title #1 so I'm not scrambling to acquire it?

If there's anything that I can do to help you guys out this year, just let me know!

It's "super" fun and everyone should already own it.  If someone doesn't have it, then they've been living under a rock

We've come up with a schedule and just have to play rock, paper, scissors with a couple games and then it will be set in stone.  Due to my work schedule this weekend (I work retail and the Super Bowl is Sunday, which means we will be super busy), I'm looking at getting things started on Valentine's Day.  So, book your calendars and push your wives or girlfriends/boyfriends to the curb.  You all have a date with Gamemaster Bimmy and the Weekly Contests

Even though I'm retired from "official" competition, I'll still be around to support the contests.
