5 Hour Energy
Pros ....
Cons ....
Do you like it???? do you think it sucks???
My Opinions (not supported by fact)
Pros ... pretty good taste, keeps me perky and refreshed
Cons ... feels like it's rotting my teeth, cost A LOT for what it is
I dig it ... but I'd like to get other people's take on it

A guy in my football league took 2-3 during halftime during a game in a different league and had a heart attack and died. I pretty much stay away from any of these things that give you a false sense of energy. Although 1 here and there isn't a big deal, don't take a bunch.

Sad to hear Scoggs story, but anything is safe when you pay attention to the directions. I'm sure they had clear disclaimers saying "don't take if you have heart problems or high blood pressure" and doubling or even tripling the dose of anything (pill, energy drink, whatever) is never a smart thing to do.
NOT TRUE. Lots of these things are unregulated supplements. You can do a lot of damage to your body taking unregulated drugs, and it will be years before evidence surfaces to show the long-term effects of these kinds of things.
Think of all the people that take unregulated diet supplements and follow the directions. Enough people died after a few years to get many of those banned.

Anything is safe until it's proven dangerous. What we think is safe is going to turn out to be bad for us in the long run so when taking these you're always really taking a risk.

Well maybe I was generalizing a bit, but I really doubt any of those dead people were completely healthy non-smokers without any family history of heart problems or high blood pressure.
I'm actually on the ECA stack right now (ephedrine, caffeine, aspirin) and ephedrine is a BANNED supplement in the NFL and has been taken out of fat burners for the past 6 or 7 years. It used to be in everything from Stacker 2 to Hydroxycut, but after a few people died from NOT FOLLOWING DIRECTIONS, it got deemed dangerous.
Ephedrine is very dangerous if you don't know what you are doing because A) You can't exceed 100mg per day (and you must begin dosages at 25mg per day for a week before stepping up) and
Moral of the story, do your research before taking any supplement and please do not use them if you have a family history of heart problems.
You do realize that all of those supplements avoid FDA regulation for a reason, right? They don't want to have to prove that they are safe. And they don't want to prove the health claims that they make.
The long-term effects of doing what you're doing can't be good. You're stressing parts of your system that will probably give you problems later in life.
Doing stuff like that to be a little bit bigger and lift more weight just aren't worth it. Accept the limitations that God gave you and make the most of your natural health and abilities. Trying to cheat the system is only going to cause you grief later.

I hope you are being sarcastic, because otherwise that's one of the most ignorant things I've ever read.
The exact opposite is a much better way to lead your life.
That shit has literally 8,000 times your daily dose of some stuff :X
But Im all down for redbull and blubeary stoli!

Every single weight-lifter or athlete in the entire world uses at least some rudimentary supplement (such as whey protein powder). Of these MILLIONS of people, sure a few have died. Is that any reason to be scared? Apparently so even though the laws of probability would dictate otherwise.
If you are against supplements, then that's fine and you are entitled to your opinion. However, you are just speculating on long-term effects and don't have any supporting evidence to your argument.
People like Arnold and Hulk Hogan have been on and off legal and illegal supplements all of their life (roids too) and are doing just fine. I understand the concept of supplements is quite foreign to you, but to insinuate they are going to give you problems later in life is utter BS.
I heard the same about creatine when it hit the market 10 years ago. People said it could cause kidney/liver failures and it would have horrible effects long term. Well here I am 10 years later and still living a healthy life...

Have you ever taken it?
I only ask because this is the 4th consecutive summer I've taken the ECA stack. I cycle 3 weeks on, 1 week off for a month or two to get in great "beach shape" then I don't touch it again until April or May of the following year.
It's a wonder drug and the weight loss isn't even the best part. It's also a bronchodilator (sp.) which is why ephredrine is prescribed to athsma (sp.) patients. (This means you literally get super human lungs and can run miles and miles without running out of breath).
I've done my research and I don't have a family history of heart problems. I'm not scared in the least and I'll continue to take it every year before the beach.

Dont think they can.. They have warning labels for a reason. Your not supposed to take more then one in 6 hours or something. Its like drinking a bottle of mouth wash. You cant blame the mouthwash company, though it is sad.
I'm not big on caffeine in general...I drink water, diet tea, and Pepsi Throwback (natural sugar FTW), with the occasional regular pop thrown in for good measure. There's also caffeine in my headache medicine (Excedrin Migraine...it's the only thing that works for me), but that is the entirety of my caffeine intake.
On topic... The whole 5-Hour/6-Hour Energy shots never appealed to me. I simply view them as (ahem, overpriced) impulse merchandise, no better for your health than the pack of batteries it sits beside on the store shelf next to the register.
I think it's hogwash.
And coincidently it tastes like it was used to wash a hog.
