Yeah, I bought a copy of the remake of Resident Evil for gamecube from there and the sticker was right on the paper part under the plastic! That was fun to remove
I have talked to all the Gamestops around me and asked them to leave the paper backing on the the label and insert it that way. It is easier for them to make up ( they don't have to remove the insert to apply the sticker) and for me to remove. All of them now do that for the most part and the only ones that are stuck on the paper are the ones transfered from another store or the warehouse.
All the guys seem to understand the request. They told me others have made good comments about them doing it that way. One Gamestop guy told me that they have gotten a few new people to their store because they don't label the insert.
Reminds me of those assclowns at goodwill. I picked up a few minty mint nes CIBs a few months back, but the bastards put price stickers right on the front. Their stickers are impossible to get off without damage too it seems. They also like to put the price sticker right on the damn label of loose carts instead of the back.
It always kills me to put those damn stickers on games. At our store we at least leave the paper backing on the side stickers so you don't have to peel that one off.
OK Rod, Spill the beans!!! How did you get it off the paper?
It really wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be, but I wouldn't know if the sticker was on there a long time or not. All I did was take out the paper insert, wrapped it around the case I just removed it from (kind of gave it a backing so it wouldn't be as easy to wrinkle the paper), and then picked at a corner of the sticker til it came up, while holding the insert fairly tight to the case. Once I got the corner loose I slowly peeled the sticker up, moving to other parts of the sticker if it started to tear and stay stuck down. So basically, I removed it just like any other gamestop sticker, but much more carefully... and luckily it didn't seem to be stuck down as much as the stickers that are on the outside on the plastic. Of course, this was the only sticker on an insert I've had to remove, so it might be different for others... not sure if this info helps you any, but it worked for me

Same thing happened to me when I got Resident Evil Code Veronica X and Primal for the PS2, didn't realize that the price label was stuck on the paper underneath, still haven't removed them, don't know how without ruining it. Dawn dish liquid worked in removing the stickers from the cases, but I'm fearful of even attempting to get them off of the paper inserts, and I have a low chemical tolerance so I can't use any harsh cleaning agents. The RE game isn't much of a big deal, as is it didn't come with the demo disc that it was supposed to have with it, so I'll eventually get rid of that one anyway to get one that's complete, but I'd like to be able to save Primal. I thought maybe peanut butter since that's what I had used on my Jackie Chan NES game years ago that had really sticky goo all over the cart including covering most of the label, but I got to get up the ambition, the courage to try it on this.
Have you tried just picking at it like I did? Might work for you, but I'm sure there's so many variables... like if the insert is glossy or not (I would imagine the glossier it is, the easier the sticker would be to peel off?) So you used peanut butter on a game? Interesting! Removes stickers and then afterwards can be a delicious snack lol

You can also use a heat gun very carefully.
