Yeah as they were lighting the lake on fire, i was thinking man, that's gonna be one hell of a clean up! I hope that's just a retention pond and not where they get their water from.
Ok so last night did Daryl get stabbed by his own knife or by negan's gang?
Reason for asking this is that if he did get nicked by negan's follower, then we know what's going to happen to Daryl
I thought he got stabbed by the gang member. It is kind of a shame the head gang leader was terminated. He seemed like he would of made for a good evil character at least for a few more episodes.
Glenn surviving two near death experiences, well you know...

I don't know how they'd go that route if they start doing that in the show. Earlier this season Rick yanked a knife out of a zombie's shoulder and slashed his hand open with it. Unless the limb can be cut off at any point instead of almost immediately after infection (the immediate is what they've been suggesting throughout the comics and show), that seems too big of a plot hole.
I thought it was an okay episode...The montage of the characters swinging their weapons against a black background was kinda hokey. I also was a little disappointed that the Wolf dude's story came to such an abrupt end... was hoping to get more of a payoff from all that buildup. otherwise, everything followed the comic book pretty closely, so I got a decent sense of where things are going. I liked the rocket launcher part at the beginning quite a bit.

As far as the montage... eh, I figured someone was going to accidentally get hacked...
The Wolf guy was built up in the like 5 episodes he was in? What a shame we did not get to know more...

I still need to read the comics. Are those anthologies worth it?
I've watched every episode as its aired since the beginning and I'm now at the point where I'm gonna wait for the season to play out and see what the consensus is before watching. This show is just so lazy about writing and plotting. I've been coasting on concept and invested time for a while now but that's all been exhausted.
Major issues with the last episode:
Daryl silently getting the upper hand on someone, killing them, and firing the rpg into the crowd (and tangentially, eliminating the leader of the bikers who seemed like a halfway interesting character)
ignoring the midseason cliffhanger with the bowlcut kid not shutting up and nobody doing anything about it. turns that didn't happen/wasn't an issue for some reason, and they quietly moved through the crowd
eventually wiping out the kid and the rest of redshirt family in the dumbest way possible. Also Michonne spearing Ron instead of cutting off a hand or something to neutralize the gun
Korl somehow getting shot through the eye, with no apparent exit wound, but he's totally gonna be fine once they find him an eye patch
Rick and the gang going superhero against that massive horde of walkers when they should have been totally overwhelmed.
Red hair and Sasha(?) magically saving Glenn with a hail of bullets yet he's totally unscathed after all that
There were other minor things that were just run of the mill dumb for WD. The Denise/wolf thing, Enid and Glenn being dramatic in the church, etc.
I think the only other show I've wanted to like and invested so much time in before bailing was Dexter. I quit after season 6, which is some of the worst tv I've ever watched. Season 7 rolled around and it was apparently pretty decent so I gave it another shot only to ride out the flaming wreck all the way to the end. I feel like WD is taking me along a similar path.

I think they build up the prospect of a back story to try and give people the notion that anyone can die at any time and the illusion of shock and the unexpected...the comic books do something similar in a way where the last page of the issue will present some crazy twist just to have it usually dispelled within the first page of the next issue (like a quick "jk, guys!") which can be annoying at times. The anthologies are nice becase they're less clutter and you're not stuck waiting a month for the next issue to come out.

I think all your points are quite valid... The problem might be the source material. This is where (in the comics) I felt they started to run out of interesting ideas and started repeating themselves except just changing the setting and the scale. I stopped reading the comics during the All Out War storyline.
PS Dexter was a mess for most of Seasons 3 though 7, with only a few saving graces mostly because of strong performances from actors like John Lithgow.

I liked the episode. You could nitpick the show to death, but its just fun entertainment set in a zombie appocalypse. Not everything has to be perfectly realistic or make sense. Its just mindless entertainment. Realistic doesnt always make a good show anyway . Thats why its a show. People take this shit way too seriously.
Ive already read a couple bitchy posts with problems they had in the episode that were either explained in the episode or talked about in talking dead right after.

There is a ton to nitpick on, but the show is great overall.
I really do not like how Fear the Walking Dead is doing... it does a superior job in feeling like a knockoff. The previews for it just seem ridiculous...

I didnt really pay too much attention to the trailer they aired. I really liked fear the walking dead season 1 though.

Yeah same with most new shows. Take awhile to get the story rolling. It was set a little different than walking dead since it started when the outbreak started instead of when it already took over.
just rewatched that short trailer. What was wrong with it? They are on that dudes boat and see a boat with what looks like some walkers on it. Then a walker struggling underwater. Thats it. Didnt show anything else. We knew they were going to get on the boat at the end of last season.

I need to rewatch the trailer, but it came off as cheesy. I think it was the walker in the water. I think the graphics or something maybe it felt like cheap CGI or something. I just know it looked odd when I saw it.

well it was only a split second. Since you cant even see whats really happening there I dont know how that could make it cheesy. Ill be watching season 2. Looking forward to that more than I was walking dead this season actually

The mini series on the plane are cool as well.
I will rewatch it, but I believe it may have triggered a scene from another movie with zombies, so it automatically made me think it was cheesy.

There's nitpicking small issues and there's identifying large, obvious problems. TV shows that don't have to be strictly realistic, but fantastical elements have to make sense internally. i.e. I'm willing to accept that zombies exist in this universe if the show establishes what they are, how they operate, etc and stick to those rules. But in this show, the internal logic is changed around as the plot dicatates it, rather than coming up with story that makes sense within the show. Aspects that are anchored in the real world however do need to be realistic, or it breaks suspension of disbelief for the viewer. The Glenn thing violated both by 1. not having that mass of walkers on him manage to do any damage and 2. having him survive a volley of gunfire without being so much as grazed.
I don't see how you could watch this show and call it "fun" entertainment. It's like AMC's flagship drama at this point, and it's basically been an unending train of shit for the characters. There's far too little humor or sense of adventure to call it fun. Z-Nation on scifi is something I would consider a fun zombie show. It's totally ridiculous, but it doesn't take itself seriously. There was a scene this season where one of the characters checks out a bus and finds a pack of zombies in Abraham Lincoln attire. I laughed at that and actually thought "I wish WD would do more odd stuff like that". When the show does occasionally have a serious moment, it can actually do a decent job. There was another episode that was bascially one long shootout, and it was great. Not just for a campy scifi show, but great as a tv episode in general. In hindsight that was better than anything I can remember WD doing.
I would sooner set my tv on fire than watch talking dead. Not to mention it's super fucking lazy to rely on a secondary show to explain what is going on, because the actual show does so poor a job of it.

then simply dont watch it if you despise it so much. Problem solved.
I dont know about you. But its not fucking real. Thats why its fun. I laugh during the walking dead all the time. During awesome kills, when rick says coral, Abraham's "nibble on that" last episode. Theres nuggets every episode that make me laugh. I watch a tv show for the entertainment value. And walkind dead is fun to me.
By the way the director talked all about carls eye and where it was shot and what happened in talking dead. They did that not to explain to you, but they were doing a segment on the prostectic and the cool dummy carl they made.
But anyways dont know why Id even explain it, because you wont care. I just dont understand why you even watch it. And dont tell me time invested. There isnt a reason to sit there and watch something that is supposed to be entertainment when you dont even enjoy it. But anyway, I kinda do understand because its cool to hate something popular these days. Your so dug in now to your opinion you wont budge so have fun being miserable watcihng something you dont like I guess

Nothing will ever beat the underwater zombie fighting a shark in Fulci's Zombi 2
What an amazing episode - I think my most favorite ever! Crazy to see the comics side vividly come to life, they put a lot of work into this episode - I watched it twice even! Lots of cheesy things being complained about over on roamersandlurkers.com but you'll always have that, it's a TV show with a budget after all. Really loved the "walking through the zombies holding hands" scene, even though it's insanely unrealistic to let them pause and huddle up for a conversation in the middle of a zombie engulfment. Shocked they did the Carl thing, but am really happy they did and the unrealistic start of the episode with Daryl and Negan's crew was pretty badass since they teased that scene back in the MSF. Nice to see Eugene and Gabriel finally nut up, same with the alexandrians.
I don't mind too much of the super crazy/super lucky things that happen throughout the show, but some things are just poor plot points. The whole plan of saving Maggie from the rickety wooden porch was pretty bad, especially when they show she literally could have just turned around and sat down on top of the wall to get off and be fine.
Comments
I thought it was a great episode all around.
Who's Negan?! What a great scene...
also i wouldn't drink the water in town for a while

Gotta remember this is a tv show
If ppl have so many issues with it theirs plenty of stuff to watch instead
- as for the stab/cut wound
They eventually gotta to bring this up, since it's a fact on how negan's gang works
Idk what's going on next week, doesn't look like much from the preview

It took a little while for it to get going... they got it right on the last 2 or 3 episodes... but the trailer really makes it look cheesy...

Yeah speaking of that shot to the eye , it's more realistic than what happened in the comics
They retconned that in the comics... In later issues, its just his eye missing, not half his head.

Nothing will ever beat the underwater zombie fighting a shark in Fulci's Zombi 2
