He's had a neck injury although I think he should be ready to come back soon.

Rumor is, he gave WWE his notice that he won't resign when his contract is up in June

    Just heard that too.

I just read that on Lords of Pain after I made my post. Supposedly he's still not cleared to wrestle, so I'm not sure why he's unhappy with his current role if he can't compete.

  • Probably that they made him stop the bad news gimmick. That was fun and he was getting great reactions. Now he's just another boring dude.

I was tempted to bring back my PPV predictions this month, but after looking at the final card for Sunday, I think I'd put more effort into writing my predictions than they put into coming up with those matches. It's ridiculous that the 2 out of 3 falls US Title match is on the pre show, but the Wyatts vs jobber six man tag match is on the main show. I'm sure Vince needs to make sure that everyone gets to see Strowman look strong instead of trying to make a title match relevant.
  • Yeah I'm not even having people over for this PPV. Pretty much every match is a rematch of recent Raw or Smackdown matches. Lame!

I seriously doubt that I'll even watch it unless there's absolutely nothing else worth watching on TV.

  • It's this Sunday?! Wow! And still no title match.
  • The current product is more miss than hit. I stick to network specials, NXT and the ppvs. I catch raw and smackdown highlights on YouTube. It's the way to go these days.

Low expectations for Fast Lane but it should be decent. Going in with an open mind.

I wasn't aware of this, but it certaintly feels like they are all "filler matches" to kill time until Wrestlemania 32.

I'm ready for another 6/10 PPV.
  • I seriously wish they would just go back to the original "big four" PPVs since they air on the WWE Network and it's not like they're losing out on the $50 a month in cable buyrates. At least that way they would have time to build these matches up and make them interesting instead of just throwing them together or repeating basically the same exact card for two or three PPVs straight. They could have one or two "special events" each year like King of the Ring, Elimination Chamber, etc to fill in some of the gaps in the schedule , but there's no reason to have monthly PPVs when the cards look like a weak episode of Raw.
  • Exactly, as I said so many of these matches have been fought multiple times already on Raw and Smackdown I could care less. Just going to watch the 3 way match and call it a PPV.

I'm not even sure that I'm going to bother watching the main event since there's a 99% chance that they're going to give that scrappy underdog Roman Reigns another Wrestlemania title match. I wish they would give Ambrose a chance. There's some hometown bias since he used to live about two miles down the road from me in East Side of Cincy, but he's way ahead of Reigns in terms of promos and actual in ring ability. I like Lesnar in his "special attraction/prize fighter" role, so I don't really think he needs the title at this point in his career.
  • Fastlane is by FAR the weakest PPV of them all each year; it's basically a slightly-glorified RAW. There's WAY too much saturation of content with the WWE in general, and the Network has so much shit that I never watch due to not caring.
  • Fastlane can t be more bad than last year
  • Don't challenge them because I'm sure they can make it worse. Everytime I think I've seen the worst PPV another one tops it later on.
  • Just wait for the main events, dudes. I'm calling it now:

Lesnar will be dominating Reigns and Ambrose, then The Wyatts will take him out and carry him out back like they did at the RR.

The best thing they could do is have a shock ending where either Reigns turns heel and joins the Authority before/after Ambrose somehow wins, but we know the latter will never happen. I can't see them doing too much risky shit with WM 32.
  • I'll probably throw the PPV on, just because of AJ and Jericho, but I'm not gonna be thrilled about it.

Gallows and Anderson just had their last show in New Japan yesterday, so they could make it to NXT/WWE by Wrestlemania. Just hope they don't get lost in the shuffle after the initial "wow factor" of WWE bringing them in.

The last Fastlane was terrible. They might as well just bring back the In Your House pay per views. At least they promoted those as filler events since they were priced lower than the main pay per views.

I literally said the exact same thing to my friend yesterday, lol. IYH is such a forgotten series. I was so young that I didn't pay attention to the non-big 4 PPVs.
  • I only watch for K.O. and Styles at this point.

I'm really sick of WWE shoving Reigns and Ambrose down are throats. They need to give other wrestlers on the roster the spot light once in awhile to allow character development. The past 4 months have basically just been a rerun of every week before.

I'll be watching the ppv tonight regardless and I'm really hoping Brock wins to face Triple H at mania. But we all know whether Reigns wins or not he will some how face Triple H at mania, otherwise he has no spot on the card.
  • It's amazing how fast Reigns has managed to already become Cena level annoying with his forced pushes. Maybe the reason Vince is supposedly so high on pushing Braun Strowman is so that Reigns will have a dominant "monster heel" to feud with. What could possibly go wrong there? I mean, it's not like The Great Khali wasn't pushed right out of the gate the same way only to end up as a dancing jobber or anything.

Nailed it. There is no more organic growth anymore. Nobody is boostrapped and given a real solid gimmick and story. It's just Vince pushing guys to the front instantly, and then wondering why nothing sticks. It's very rare to get something of Cena status like that right out of the gate, but Reigns might be the 1 out of 10 average it's bound to happen with, lol.

Still, I miss Saturday morning/afternoon WWF. Fugg the E.
  • Even when someone gets over on their own, they get buried like Zack Ryder with his YouTube show. Even Daniel Bryan was held down until the fan support finally got to the point where they realized that they could make money off of him.
  • I remember reading about Ryder; didn't he get a HUGE organic push with hundreds of thousands of followers online, and Vince ruined that?

Yeah, I think he was the first wrestler to hit a million Twitter followers on top of his YouTube show that he did himself. Vince put him in the middle of a storyline with Kane and Cena that totally killed his momentum. If you aren't being pushed by the corporate machine, you get buried for trying to grab Vince's imaginary "brass rings" on your own. I'm pretty sure that 18 second jobbing of Daniel Bryan to Sheamus in the World Heavyweight Title match at WrestleMania wasn't meant to get him over even though it backfired by getting the fans behind him because of how he got screwed over.

Makes complete sense. We can't have a free market in this business, damnit! Lmao.

Prepare for another 6/10 PPV tonight, fellas.
  • 6/10 sounds optimistic. I'm guessing we get Reigns winning the title shot and the Wyatt tag match just being a showcase for Braun Strowman. Only in WWE logic does the 2 out of 3 falls US Title match get put on the pre show while the meaningless divas tag match and an Edge and Christian interview segment with The New Day gets put on the actual card.
  • 6/10? Wow, only thing that would get it that high for me would be some random returns to setup some unknown WM matches. Like Rock or Sting, etc.
  • I'm sticking with 6/10, despite the excellent points you both make. Who say Sting won't randomly show up, anyway? It doesn't make any sense, which is all the more reason it could actually happen.
