  • If I can talk to people and have a civilized convo with them, their opinion holds alot more weight then his, even if it differs from my own. I have appreciated hearing your opinion Dochrohan as well as coffeewithmrsaturn's and the few others that have expressed one. All but 1.
  • Well thanks for the info to the people that contributed. From what I'm gathering is $100-$150 on the high end but do-able for this.
  • Well, just an update. This was traded off for Mega Man 1 for the NES (at the time MM1 was going for $70 roughly on VGPC) and $25 USD. So about a $95 value on it. So much for the $40 appraisals. Thanks for all that actually chimed in however as that is how these things get answered.
  • This post is 2 years old....

Picked one of these up in Newfoundland a couple months back for $50 CAD in much better shape.
  • I was just updating people as to what I sold it for. So there might be some kinda record someplace the next time someone wants to try and value this. You paid $50, but would you take $50 for it? Probably not, so the value is over $50 for said item.
  • So. Did you trade it 2 years ago, or just recently?
  • About 4-6 months ago. I just never got around to updating this till recently.
  • So the value may have gone up slightly from 2 years ago. Personally I'd have no problem reselling at $50. Not a whole lot of people interested in these. Lucky you ditched it when you did
  • It wasn't ditched 2 years ago, I asked for pricing 2 years ago. I traded/sold it 4-6 months ago for just the Mega Man game and cash.
  • I haven't seen the sealed version with the tape sell for a long time or even a used one with the tape. The book itself used sells for like $10-$15 most of the time. Can't imagine a sealed one with tape going for more then $50 and I am a huge zelda collector.
  • Well mine did sell, for roughly $100 in value. The thing is finding the tape in any condition and then trying to figure out what it might be sealed.

Re read my post. You were looking for a value 2 years ago. At the time $50 was a fine value. Now, almost 2 years later it may have gone up a little in value. That being said, I think whoever traded for it, over traded value wise.

And if you-re-read the entire article, you'll see I also have people valuing it over $100,  I actually had offers in PM for over $100 in value but could never finish the deal as they never had anything that I wanted.  They had good stuff, just nothing I would have used, so we ended up calling the deal dead.  The person that I eventually traded it too had something I wanted, hence striking a deal with them.  So the $95 I got for it was still within the price range I was told, 2 years ago.  When you sell yours, post pics and let us know what you sold it for, maybe that'll help the next person that stumbles onto one of these things get a value easier then I did when I was looking.    BTW - Just because you paid $50 for it doesn't mean anything.  I paid $4 for my bomberman Second attack, does that make it only worth $4?  No.

Lol and just because you traded your book off at almost $100 doesn't make it worth that either. Probably traded it to somebody that was uninformed. If mine goes up, it will be at ebay auction. I imagine it won't fetch much more than $50
  • Sure Viper, I traded it to a fellow collector who knew exactly what he was getting. But keep telling yourself that it was someone un-aware of prices. Go ahead and post it on Ebay, I'd honestly like to see what a better conditioned one would go for. You might actually be surprised. Oh and BTW - Since this sold/traded for that value, then yes, it means that to someone, it was worth that much. Sorry to burst your bubble.

You know what they say. A fool and his money...
  • Funny coming from someone that paid $50 for the item in question. What exactly do you have planned for it? Let it collect dust on a shelf? I mean, it is only worth $50 right? Clearly not purchased for resale. Sounds like a stupid purchase to me unless you plan to use it.

Bravo!!! You've just defined a collector
  • Not all collectors are foolish enough to buy at "market value."
