Fuller House
I imagine lots of us watched Full House as youngsters, so it was no surprise when I saw last year that a remake/reboot was in the works. The show premiered today on Netflix. I'll be 100% honest, I marathoned the whole season from midnight - 6 am. Not sure exactly why, just couldn't sleep, and it was semi entertaining. The whole cast is back, minus the Olson twins. I was pleasantly surprised is was more adult than the original series. So, anyone going to give it a watch, or are currently watching?
Eta: Stephanie & DJ are looking hot these days.

Its pandering to the extreme, but I mean Ill watch it. I watched 3 episodes. At first it was weird, but it settled down. That first episode they just threw everything in it.
Full house wasnt some great show but it was comfort tv. The macoroni and cheese of television. Kinda like all late 80s and 90s sitcoms are.
And dear lord stephanie has enormous cans.
Well my first reaction was that Stephanie and DJ are looking really good! I started watching the show tonight and ended up turning it onto something else after three episodes. It's pretty interesting to see everyone doing some throwback jokes 20+ years later, but the show is pretty terrible.
Yeah, it's not that great. After 2 eps I thought I wouldn't continue, but the rest were actually pretty funny. Maybe it was the pot laughing for me though.
You know what? I dont hate it.

100% yes.
...But I hear Stephanie has some nice cans?
Did somebody say cans? I guess I'll give it a shot.
My thoughts exactly.

Must watch for cans
That said, I never really felt that excited for this series. Why? This is how it should have gone.
The series SHOULD have revolved around the rise and fall of Ace of Base cover band "Girl Talk", the sex, the drugs, the How Rude....Stephanie Tanner spends her days dodging TMZ
Joey Gladstone becomes as successful as Jeff Dunham and hires Jesse as his agent, Danny as his maid
Derek should have witnessed Michelle's drug overdose and death at a rave, leading him down a
"Macaulay Culkin-esque" adulthood that leads to him becoming Kimmy Gibbler's closeted homosexual husband.
His presence leads to the deteriation of "Girl Talk" after he insists on a duet of "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" featuring himself being the title track of their next album.
And then the final episode ends with Michelle waking up from her coma and realizing it was all a dream
And in the final scene Danny Tanner from Ork says Nanu Nanu and ascends to the skies, releasing the girls true father from his Time Crystal.
So needless to say, the woman and I watched the first 3 episodes of Fuller House last night. I have to say they did a great job with the writing as it's pretty spot on to the way the show used to be. The original cast and new faces can actually act so that's a huge plus.
It's a little different viewing the show from an adult perspective now instead of a kid but in a way it's like you grew up with them. The old jokes and throwbacks are there but there's enough new content to pull in a fresh audience as well.
I think anyone who watched the original Full House and enjoyed it will enjoy Fuller House. It's not the best or worst thing in the world but there's something for everyone in Fuller House IMO.
I guess they are still trying to get the Olsen twins back because Michelle is mentioned a bit.
Overall, the show isn't bad, but it isn't great either. I get a laugh or two each episode....but not nealry as much as the "live studio audience".
And yes, Steph has HUGE cans...she knows it, the producers know it and they utilize them to keep us watching.
I am not complaining.

I don't think Ashley Olsen will ever be willing to act again, but Mary-Kate did say if it were to ever happen that it would need to be Mary-Kate. They don't even look like each other anymore anyway, they both look so worn out. Even if the show helped make them filthy rich, I don't really blame them for not really caring to have anything to do with it. It was a part of their lives from age 0-8. Hell, I moved from my original town at Age 8 and never saw those old friends again. I can't really say I'd have any desire to reunite with people I hardly remember over 20 years later either....
When I was a young teen I thought they were the hottest girls my age on the planet
Granted, I used to watch a lot of crappy television as a kid after school.
My major complaint with it is that it's missing the music between scenes. Just the scene transition music being gone, made me feel like I was watching one of those crappy Disney shows. Hopefully someone knows what I am talking about because it's kind of hard to explain.
The episode with Bob Saget being upset that the couch got ripped and needs new upholstery cracked me up. Gibbler and Stephanie are still the best characters too.
Stephanie has been married 3 times in real life too, I thought that was funny. But damn she looks good.
Dude she looks REAL good. I was thinking the same thing while watching it last night.

There are a lot of cringe inducing scenes that are common with those crappy newer Disney sitcoms.

Any scene with just the young kids SCREAMS DISNEY channel! They are painful to watch...
I agree there is something missing with the lack of music. The "moral of the story" endings Full House was known for ALWAYS had the family friendly love music playing in the background. You could not finish an episode without it sneaking in the background.
Fuller House has the same lesson learned scenes at the end, but don't really hit home as hard cause it is just a Mom talking to her son...ect...
Somebody has to know what I mean...

Exactly. Which is why I found the "family couch" topic so damn funny. Danny goes "Now could we have a family talk like THAT on a new couch?" They almost poke fun at the fact that all the family talks and moral of the episode endings happened on that couch. The nods to the original are very frequent but in my opinion, well done.
They also brought like everyone back, even certain kids that were only in an episode or two. To be honest, it's great seeing them all together again, and I wasn't a huge fan at all.
