Fun accessories (and games that complement them) for the Wii (or other system(s))

So I've considered picking up something for the Wii (or another recommended platform) that involves something active that my daughter and I can do with one of my game consoles.  We do other outdoor and active stuff but for the remainder of winter and the colder parts of spring I was hoping for a fishing game or something else that would be fun.  I know the Wii in particular has quite a few add on accessories that can be hooked up to a wii-mote to simulate some activity/sport.  Any recommendations of some fun ones that a six year old would also enjoy?  This is not exclusively for me but rather something that we could do together or that I could watch her do.

I'm pretty ignorant on the Wii library so recommend away!  I'm sure the goofier the accessory the better.

  • NHL Slapshot is a cult classic of sorts with the Hockey stick add-on. That game isn't necessarily cheap though CIB, but you could probably cobble up a couple stick adapters and the game for a better price...I don't own it (yet) but I've played it and its a lot of fun.
  • I've always wanted to give sega bass fishing a try with the fishing rod controller. Not sure if it's any good though
  • If you are looking at hardware I'd get a Wii U. There are games that use the tablet and can be quite fun for all ages. NintendoLand is an underrated gem. Shovel Knight, any Mario game, Sonic Racing Transformed, Captain Toad... the list goes on.
  • Samba de Amigo was ported to the Wii and can be picked up from Gamestop for like $1.
