How to remove a game label without damagin it?

So, a guy from a facebook group had his Little Samson damaged by his dog. Most damage was done to the plastic of the cart, so I was wondering if someone has had success in removing labels to reapply to another cart. Thanks.

  • If you just want to take the label off cleanly use a hair dryer to weaken the glues bond and slowly take it off.

I'm not sure about reapplying it though you likely would never get it to go back on to a new cart. Would need some sort of glue to make the back sticky again and then be an absolute wizard to apply it straight/without bubbles on to a new shell.

It's great that this is tough to do from a collectors perspective but it definitely leaves you in a tough spot when you want to swap out a damaged shell. There are of coarse the replacement labels but that will hurt the value even more then leaving it as is.
  • NVM, I didn't read your response well, haha.

    Thanks
  • Lol nothing against you OP but my dog also ate my homework (i dont know why but this means i am skeptical about the story)
  • I may be wrong of course but in this day and age....

  • LOL it actually says me gusta on FB in spanish that's hilarious!
  • If the dog got a hold of the label, it probably has punctures/tears in it as well, and won't come off in one piece.

It does mean "I like it", hah!
  • Based on that picture, the label looks like its been damaged as well.

Also all the damage is done to the top corner, so I would just keep it as is.
  • Getting a label off is both alot of skill and luck. Ive removed a thousand labels and I can spot which ones will give me trouble. The problem is that once they start to give you trouble(the backing seperates from the label, a small tear begins, etc) theres no going back. No amount of skill can guarantee a clean label removal.
