  • Media mail is definitely a no-no. the USPS is starting to get more and more aggressive about inspecting packages sent this way. Even video games themselves do not quality. If caught, the person on the other end will be forced to pay postage upon delivery (and I'm sure an additional delay is added).

As a general request: please everybody, don't ruin Media Mail for those that still use it to ship books. Without media rates, shipping books is just too damned expensive in most cases
  • I haven't had complaints with First Class USPS. I wrap in a ton of bubble wrap and put it in either a small box or bubble mailer. As long as it's under 16oz you won't pay too much!
  • If it's not a book, it's not media mail.

You could send small flat rate. What I do is wrap them in a layer of bubble wrap, then put it in a bubble mailer, then send it out first class. It's the cheapest, super light, and first class is quick enough that it doesn't spend enough time to get tossed or crushed. I deal with a lot of game boys and have had no complaints. They are so light, you could probably make a small box and still send it first class.
  • Thanks for the help all! Definately gonna try first class
  • They should call it book mail then. Media means A LOT of stuff, more than just books.

I think when they started media mail, books were the only media.
  • First Class weight limit jumped up to 16oz limit, so you should be fine there. For packages that are more than a pound, the padded flat rate bubble mailers can be a good choice for fairly small items.
