Looking for an image.

Once upon a time I saw an image of a NES with the carts online, possibly from a magazine promo of the NES, the labels for what would become the black box carts was different in this particular picture. I have searched all night and cant find it. I hope someone knows what I'm talking about.

  • I finally found it this morning, does anyone have any of these carts in their collection. Do they even exist. Does anyone have a better picture or a close up.

  • that looks strange.. the carts look to be a different size aswel?
  • i wonder if those are NTSC. i've never seen them before, but i know there were some other carts in Nintendo advertisements that have never been seen before, like pre-manufacturing pictures. those do look cool though.
  • I would guess its either foam mockups or engineering samples for very early advertisements, not anything that was ever released. For the labels to be there it must have no thumb area.  A few of the early cart patents show the label which doesn't go very far down the front of the cart.  Sheet 4 and 5 of that patent look like the same cart with the label all the way across the top.
