Anyone Have Problems With Retro USB Items?

I bought a Nintendo Campus Challenge through Retro USB.  The game is all choppy and has a shadow effect on Super Mario 3.  Then it resets itself after level 1-1 every single time and goes back to the title screen.

Has anyone ever had problems with their cartridges through Retro USB?  Is this common?

The NES works perfectly and I am using an original NES, not a top loader.

  • my NWC and NCC carts work perfect. i play them every weekend. email them and they will fix it.
  • I tried contacting them via IM, but got no response.  Hopefully they respond to the email though.  I'm assuming it is just a bad cart.  I want to buy more from them as long as they work.
  • IM? did you try a PM to bunnyboy?
  • he's a tough guy to get a hold of some times.
  • what is the voltage of the ac adapter you are using? is it an official NES adapter? I know the lower voltage AC adapters that are third party and what not will cause a buzzing and shadow effect on the campus challenge and NWC carts, but never heard of the level 1-1 reset thing.
  • No problems here.
  • go to retrousb.com and the FAQs, it lists how to contact bunnyboy there..

I think I was using a 3rd party AC Adaptor.  I will try an original one and see if that works.

The shadow effect is gone, but the stalling and reset to title screen problems are still happening.  Sounds like the AC Adaptor might have been causing the shadow problem, but the cartridge is causing the other issues.
  • Looks like email is the best way to contact retroUSB. They don't reply to IM's but they replied to the email and will fix the problem. Good customer service.
  • hey so i wasn't wrong about the AC Adapter problem! I feel like somewhat of a problem solver image

maybe IM overflow?... i'd probably prefer email if I were them, just so that way everything is handled consistently.. good stuff though, wish i had the money to actually buy some stuff lol
  • bunny has a lot on his plate, I've found the best way to get a hold of him is on the chat #Nintendoage
  • Bunnyboy is extra attractive.
  • walrus on Bunny action is GROSS!!! Don't hurt the poor bunny Tusky!
  • I had some problems with my NCC cart as well. I do own all of the other RetroUSB carts and this is the first problem I've had though.
  • My copy of Mike Tyson's Intergalactic Power Punch has some weird white lines going over the gameplay at certain times, but it does go away. Fortunately, it never happened during the speed run though!
