Famicom Data Recorder on NTSC NES?

I recently took the audio from excitebike saving, and I saved it digitally on my comp. Then, while on a cleanup mission, opened my nes, and while I was doing that, i connected the Audio in pin of the EXP port and ground to an audio jack.



When i tried loading in excitebike, I played the same audio to my NES's audio in spot. All i got was the audio going to my TV, and nothing loaded.

Is it possible SOMEHOW, to save using audio on an NES?

    You could get one of these: http://enio.chykn.com/wiki/index.php/Main_Page

    and then play the Famicom verson on your NES with a converter. The NES version may work as well, but I have never tested it with mine.



    Also, I'm guessing it is much like older computers. Getting the tape volume just right is critical.

    I connected it already, and saved the audio, but Excitebike doesn't load anything
