Terminator Salvation
Just went to go see it with the family. I must say i didn't expect much since it was directed by the same man who made "Charlie's Angels". However it was much better than i imagined it would be. I won't give any spoilers away, but i will say one of the highlights is they give tons of references to the older movies, if you pay close attention.

Out of curiosity, did any of you guys follow the TV series?
Yep, watched it every week and I'm pissed that they decided to cancel it. It was actually getting better......
Well, despite the negativity here, I enjoyed it.
Well since the majority disliked, i would love to here why some people loved it (and i am being serious, this not meant to be an ass comment).
I love a good movie discussion! Even if i didn't enjoy the movie, i can still find bits and pieces that can merit some good comments and I would love to here why people enjoyed this particular film.

Dude, i know, i was so mad.....They left so much to be answered, between Cameron's disappearance, and John being sent to the future. Just sucks rectum. As far as TV in general, ALOT of good shows won't be back next year.
I really wanted to know how the human Cameron in the last shot tied in to the Terminator Cameron. And what changed that T1000's mind about helping humanity after it escaped that sub. And John Henry was great too.. argh, this sucks so bad. I wish they would've let it go for just one more season to wrap all this stuff up!

Ok, I just saw this tonight so I figured I'd do a review of my thoughts about the film.
To sum it up, this movie is an action movie, not a science fiction film, or at least the 'science' and 'fiction' behind the terminator series is not the emphasis. It is a film injected with steroids - filled with a rage of explosions and high-tech special effects which both add strength to this film, and hinder it. Entertainment-wise it successfully delivers a heart pounding thrill-ride of narrow escapes, chase scenes, and battles. However, there is more thrill than thought or emotion; moreover, this film is just another example of the Hollywood 'machine' which strives only to entertain and capitolize off of the franchise that fans grew up loving.
Therefore, in terms of entertainment value this film provides a quick glimpse into the grim and battle torn world of post Judgement day and keeps the viewer occupied with a light show of gunshots and explosions. So if you want action this film will deliver your money's worth.
But, the special effects and action scenes seem to have been designed to distract the viewer from the horrendous acting and silly situations that occurr throughout. For example, command central is located in a small submarine, and Connor somehow manages to jump into the ocean and board the ship while underwater, a mere impossibliity. Christian Bale give his character absolutely no emotion other than a rage of uncessesary shouting and silly diolouge. The plot is hardly thought out, and does little to answer any questions left by the previous installments in the series.
Having said all this, it really depends on what you are looking to get out of the movie, for entertainment value I say go see it, but If you are hoping for a well thought out plot and dynamic storyline you may have to travel back in time and prevent the script writers from unleashing this mindless machine of a film on the world. For now, the mind and heart of the original series remains terminated.
EDIT to add:
Gimmick, have you not seen Hunt for Red October? That have at least one underwater sub-boarding. It is certainly doable.
And actually, having your command center on a submarine makes a lot of sense if you need to continually evade the enemy and can't afford to be based in one location.
Hmmm, I dunno, I suppose it was just the way they presented it, with him jumping into the waves and miraculously appearing onboard
I just dont get how he could even find the sub when he jumped out of the helicopter. Its night time and if I remember correctly there is a large storm going on. Maybe if he had been wearing infrared goggles and some scuba gear.
I'm pretty sure before he jumped off he told the pilot to have the sub send a team to find him.
