Bartman meets radioactive man label

Hi!

I recently picked up a CIB copy of Bartman meets radioactive man. It all looks great, the box, manual and cart, BUT the label is... different somehow. It looks like some kind of custom label print, it isn't plastic coated, it looks a bit smaller and the seal of quality doesn't "shine" like the ones printed on any other NES game. Everything is original, I just find something odd about the label.

Almost every Bart meets radioactive man I've seen, has it's label in really bad shape, and mine looks like new, just with a lower paper quality, so looking into the bright side, I think that would be a reason why the labels on this particular cart doesn't stand the test of time. So here comes my question: Is this a normal thing with this cart? or is it a custom label?

Thanks in advance!

  • Pictures would help
  • Remember LJN/Acclaim releases had shitty labels, different for the rest.
  • Hola! veo que también eres de México. Si, estoy de acuerdo, pero comparé con otros juegos de LJN/Acclaim (Bart vs space mutants, Bart vs the world, Krusty's fun house, wolverine, etc) y aún así se ve distinta :/
  • my acclaim labels are bad too.. I think it's kinda like the glue issue with lots of atari games.

What he said. It can sometimes be difficult to find a copy of this game with a good label, same with King of the Ring.

  • Yeah it's a common thing to have the Simpson's games to come up with crappy labels. Some are okay, while others are pretty bad.

I have a Bart Vs. the World that looks like it's been dipped in something. I think over time, some of chemicals in the glue, the paper, and/or the ink can deteriorate over time.
  • I am pretty sure that LJN/Acclaim used the same glue used by Activation for their Atari 2600 labels.
  • I just added a couple of pics.
  • Thanks everyone!
  • Man if they label isn't fake that is hands down the best Bartman meets Radioactive man label I've ever seen
  • I know! I was kinda surprised. In fact the whole thing (cart, manual, box) is in great shape.

It could be like Sega Genesis labels that get ruined by hand oils rubbing on it. I would guess since evertying in great shape, it hasn't been really handled as much as the other carts.
  • That would explain why my copy looks splotched.
