Unreleased SNES game released power slide fx Video's included

SO a while ago I stumbled across this gem of a website called http://eludevisibility.org/ and noticed that they were releasing alot of interesting games for the SNES scene well one of the games that were slated to be released was Power Slide FX effects demo. this game is completely un emulatable right now but does work on actual hardware I have tested this.

if you can make a starfox2 repro you can make this game work on actual hardware to then.

the game has a very pleasing soundtrack to it of one song. the demo consists of you driving around in what looks like a Mini on this track you have a 2 minute clock going and once the 2 minutes are up you reset to the beginning a fun little thing I found is that if you comple the track in less then 2 minutes the amount of time it took you becomes the new time limit making it so that you could take turns trying to beat one another in a tournement if you wish. the game does have it's quirks though like if you are stationary and press the brake button the camera flips out. if you drive into the barriers the car can bounce out of control fairly easy the steering is touchy but doesn't take long to figure out. over all I think it is quite advanced for snes era hardware.
here are some video's I have made to prove it is does work on actual hardware.
I also found a reset button combination that resets you to the start line. the 2 top buttons pressed at the same time also on one of these video's

that was the proof on actual hardware video and the next one is the reset button trick video

I also have a video of the actual full lap but it might take me a little while to upload that one it is a little larger then the first two video's

unfortunatly my still camera doesn't have a sound option or else I would have added that. I'll see if I can jerry rig something though and capture the sound for everyone to enjoy

also I believe but am not 100% sure that I am one of the first persons to make this mod because I have yet to see anyone else mention this on any of the other forums that deal with cart-modding

  • full lap belongs in between the first and second video this is actually the video that i found the reset button trick in but made a dedicated video that cuts to the chase

edit it is also from turning the system on to completing the track so you can see exactly everything that the game consists of if you were playing it yourself.
I haven't been able to get into the debug area like it is posted on the owners website but if and when I am able to I'll show you how
  • Ian , that is sweet, I was just actually reading up on this game. It looks really cool, but not too far along...

I ahd no idea there were so many unreleased games on snes that could have been, including a bunch from a developer bought out by Sega, only to cancel the SNES games set to be completed.

  • for some reason I was playing through the game again last night and when it got to the 2 minute mark it didn't reset to the start line ??? I even did a  lap in 1:05 minutes and then tried to beat my time but didn't and again it didn't reset... maybe it is possible that the race doesn't reset if you don't beat the previous time or 2 minutes?
after 9:59 minutes the clock goes wonky and for me when It rolled past 9:59 their was a little dot where the top of the first 0 after the 1 should be and the 1 in 10 was missing.
