The Uninvited Hint Book

What would this go for? No writing, and very little to no wear.

  • I think it'd take an auction to find out, none have sold recently to my knowledge...
  • yeah, auction it off here and we shall see. image

    I'm guessing 50$ish.
  • Hmm, there might be an auction of one soon then.

Edit: If I can find where the smeg I put it first... 0_o
  • I would say $50 is too high for Uninvited. It's not as common as Shadowgate, etc hint books but it's not super rare like Crystalis. I'd put it at $20-30.

Well, it appears to be rarer than the Dejavu one which is consistently selling for $25-$35 within minutes of being listed on here. I am assuming it would go for more as there are no recent benchmarks. I know if I didnt have it Id throw $40 to $50 at it.
  • If I were collecting all the hint books still, I'd expect to drop at least $40 on this one. I've now had two Deja Vu's and I haven't even SEEN an Uninvited one yet. Literally, have not even seen a picture of it.

Also Guillavoie sold his Adventures of Lolo 3 Guide for $50ish and I thought that was stupidly rare too...
  • found this while searching. Kind of interesting as I didnt know several of these were made.

  • Well I can tell you I got Uninvited Hint Book for $20, minty shape. I also just picked up an ADventures of Lolo hint book last week on eBay for under $10. So it just depends I guess how well it is advertised, etc. The most I've ever paid for any hint book was for Crystalis of which I traded Dain a minty CIB UBI Soft Indiana Jones for.

The rarest of the rare I think is a Milon's Secret Castle hint book, I think it is the last one raregamergirl needs.

And if you listed either of those on here they would go for much more than what you paid. image

Nice finds though. I assume they were sold alone? I got my uninvited book in a manual lot and it wasnt even listed as part of the lot. I do agree that most of the time they are poorly listed in auctions and that can affect their sale value. People dont realize they are usually more desirable than the game its with.

  • Yep... Dragon Warrior IV strategy Guide usually runs about $50 as well. That one seems to be the one most often listed stand alone for the most cost.
  • You know, maybe we all should put together a Hint Book rarity guide if there isn't one already...

Well either way I found it! Here it is: http://www.nintendoage.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=6&threadid=19737

I'm probably stupid for not taking some of the offers PM'd to me, but I can't help but be curious what it's worth? I've been planning to auction off some harder to find things recently, and I'll put up another auction once one ends.
  • I tried to make a hint book rarity guide 3 months back, everyone is hush hush though and won't tell you what's hard to come by. And part of it is really just not knowing because these things pop up few and far between...
  • I have an Uninvited hint book in great shape, if anyone's interested. I also have Wizardry, Wizardry II and Maniac Mansion (not the poster, a big hint book), off the top of my head.
