Open or not???

Hey. I recently won a SNES factory sealed WWF Royal Rumble, along with a few others, from a seller we probably all know.

Anyways, in the heat of bidding on multiple auctions ending 1 minute apart, I just took a cursory glance and failed to notice a tear, my fault. Now not I've unopened the package, I saw it was about a quarter size and is literally hanging by a thread, don't think it happened in transit, packaging was good.  Oh crap, Actually I was writing this and looking at the box, it just fell offimage

I remember renting this game every weekend as a kid, and when my brother saw it he remembered instantly, and said lets play some 2 player man! So it holds memories for both of us. It's not a rare game, but nearly anything anything sealed holds some value, but now with that piece missing I'm tempted to open it up and keep the cello on. Heres the auction #, take a look at the 2nd pic, and imagine it ripped off, let me know what you would do. Thanks, Kevin

Edit- Also look at the price I paid, kinda thinking I'll open it, AHH,. I can't decide! .

Edited the .ca link. Was showing up en francais.

Ha ha It's just that I have only 11 sealed games (just started collecting 'em) but yeah, I was thinking about the great price I got on it, and once you mentioned how cheap I got it,  I realized I was being a tad anal about it.

Just opened it! Twas a great feeling, haven't open a SNES game since probably '96. Felt weird, and exhilarating, and the smell... lolimage   Plus, this game kicks ass!

Edit-  Hmm, this could get kind of addicting... time to open up My Maxi-15image

  • Opening up sealed games is REALLY fun. A few weeks ago I opened a couple NES commons and it was like a roller coaster ride.
  • For shame! Opening sealed games is bad juju.

Well for 3.25 and a big piece of seal missing, I figured why not? Probably won't ever open another, but like  "projecting stars" wrote, opening up commons is quite fun, and this game is fairly common, and could probably get another dead mint one for a few dollars more. Not gonna start opening up expensive ones, etc. I'm really not regretting it, not now anyways. But maybe the sealed NES karma will bite me in the ass in the futureimage
  • Yeah for $3.25, it's totally worth opening.   I actually played this game back in the day too, and it provided a lot of entertainment for me and a couple of friends.
  • Open it man ! I opened a Perfect Dark for N64 that I got for $5 at the fleamarket, and nothing is better than taking the virginity of a video game image.
  • Open it! I've opened a few sealed games and it is quite a nostalgic experience.
  • Yeah, I actually ended opening my sealed Digger T Rock because I was bored one day image. It is pretty awsome pulling out a fresh new cart out of a box thats been sealed for almost 20 years  image. For common games its totally worth it, for rares its obviously a different story.
  • Yeah, it was opened, and played, and enjoyed last night. Love the rumble mode. Opening a game that's 15-20 years old is really quite fun (this one is from '93).
Marton- I now know exactly what you mean by "deflowering" a sealed game ha haimage I am of course keeping everything that came with it.  There was even a pretty nice poster, don't think I'll be putting this one on my wall lol,  although as a 5 year old kid I sure would of.
  • I love the smell of freshly opened games. Me and a buddy have had discussions about it. Like how Nintendo stuff smells different from sega stuff etc
