What's the story on Lunar Pool? I played it for a little while today, and it looks like you can start your game on any table/stage/whatever you want to. Is it just a question of completing all of them, on however many credits you need? If so, I'll pick this one up if no one else is already started on it.

I know in the past we have let people just beat all 60 stages the way you're describing. But, there is a special message for beating all 60 in one go, so I think this year that should be required.
I did some testing using a level skip code, and apparently you can start on any of the stages, as long as you finish 60 in a row. So you could start on say, stage 50, and you'll get the message after beating level 49.

I did beat the game but I think it was 2015 but yeah it is quite challenging, so good luck nerdynebraskan. The worse is that it has to be the 60 in a row, if you game over you have to start again.
Ok, nevermind then. Someone else will have to slay that. I'm not nearly good enough to beat 2-3 tables in a row, much less all 50 of them on one credit.
I might give it a try later on, but since it will also be a featured game in the weekly contest in the future, it might happen that someone else will beat it for us.
35 fucking minutes. That's how long it took me for my last boss fight. "Hey let's make a boss who has a random chance to heal himself back to 100%" Fucktards. I didn't have time to grind like I wanted too, but the fodder up to the boss was easy anyways. But hell, no boss should be 30+ mins.

It's on my PSP if you're wondering.
Well at least it's better than the dos version! I'm not the biggest fan of the bard's tale series.
I'm close to beating Dudes with Attitude, in case anyone else was considering working on it. Three levels left (of 32), though at least two of them are nasty as hell.
EDIT: Make that two levels left, but one of them supposedly needs a second person to help out (?).
Yeah, there's a level in Dudes and another in Trolls on Treasure Island (aka Dudes 2) where you have to use two controllers. It's a pain to control two players, but it's doable. I beat both games single-handedly two years ago and WashYourFace did three years ago and neither of us had a buddy for the 2P levels. And my skill is significantly weaker than several of the other powerhouses here. If I can do it, I bet you can too.
I changed over to 2-player mode for the Teamwork level (as is required to beat that level), and handled both players myself. After that thought I had another level yet to come, but then got the ending screen seen above.
Now that I look back at the password screen I see all 32 level markers are lit up, but I know I never played the Express Route level. When I go to the world map, Express Route isn't shown. So somehow, the game skipped over it (?) and is giving me credit for it. Some sources say it's supposed to be the last level, while the GameFAQs page lists Ice Arena (which I beat) as the last one.
Since I got the ending screen, should this count as-is, or do I need to clear Express Route too? AdamL has a password I can use to play Express Route on its own, and I think I'll clear that level anyway for my own list, so all 32 levels will be beaten one way or another.
Yeah, I remember that being a bit glitchy toward the end for me as well. It sure looks finished to me, though... you've already been treated to the ending screen.
You should definitely do Trolls on Treasure Island next, if you can cut through Dudes this quickly.
Thanks, nerdynebraskan. I just beat Express Route using AdamL's password and got the exact same ending (with AdamL's name instead of mine), so I think Dudes with Attitude is unequivocally done.
I was thinking of doing Trolls on Treasure Island next -- it's pretty much the same game, right?
Yes, it's seriously Dudes 2. They just added a license with the Troll dolls for some reason, and wound up renaming it. Most of the game is pretty easy, up to the brutal last few stages.

You weren't kidding -- Stage 31 is one of the most demanding puzzle game stages I've ever played! -- but I'm happy to say Trolls on Treasure Island is done:
Congrats, Bronze! You banged those out much faster than I did a couple of years ago. What's next for you? If you're a puzzle master, you should try Loopz. That one is really brutal.
Good question! I really want to take a good run at Destination Earthstar, but maybe it's time I started working on Exodus again. Last time we did unlicensed games I got to Levels 26-30 before I gave up. That doesn't affect this year one way or the other, of course, since the built-in stage select means you can start at Level 81, but I would like to beat all 100 levels for my own list.
I might also try Linus Spacehead, since I've beaten the Genesis port (Cosmic Spacehead).
We've nearly matched our best effort at the unlicensed list, and we're not even halfway through the year yet. We've technically edged past our second-best effort in 2014, (although we've really just tied it as I realize I beat Trolls on Treasure Island that year and for some reason forgot to report it... dammit!)... Given the current push on unlicensed games, we may even beat our all-time best effort by the end of the month.
^That was my hope, in working specifically on unlicensed games to try to further the cause a bit. And glad to see that Bea_Iank has taken Secret Scout down too.
The key will be getting those 6 never-beaten games done: Action 52, Crystal Mines, Exodus (which is pretty much the same game as Exodus AFAIK), Galactic Crusader, Quattro Arcade (F-16 Fighter has never been beaten), and Stunt Kids.
Galactic Crusader and F-16 Fighter don't look impossible, just irritatingly lengthy and difficult. Stunt Buggies from Quattro Arcade has been beaten before, so it's evidently doable. Crystal Mines and Exodus will probably fall at the same time. Stunt Kids seems really nasty, and it's in a genre I can't stand.
To beat Action 52, we'll need people to commit to some of those maddeningly random minigames, and try to suss out some sort of logic or predictability to them, or find a non-obvious safe zone (present in several of the games I've beaten), or just get really lucky. If we can get the number of remaining minigames down below 10, it'll be easier to find the motivation to keep throwing ourselves at them.

This game really surprised me overall i thought it was well put together and i enjoyed it but the last stage seemed overly difficult
and congrats nebraskan on your personal best

This Color Dreams game surely is bad. Ugh.

I intend to tackle a few Action 52 and more unlicensed games in the coming weeks. We gotta do this.
Top Gun: The Second Mission was Beaten
Toobin' is done.
Three pieces of great news!
