I posted a thread about this mysterious cart before (although I cannot find it), which I found at a garage sale around 7 years ago. I just discovered yesterday that it is the japanese version! Has anyone ever encountered this before?

i know some people made their own carts like that with the japanese version. usually, those are just gray carts with the pin converter though.

the japanese version is actually tougher. if you get hit when you have fire power or the raccoon suit, you go all the way back to midget mario. i think it makes the game more challenging.

No converter here, no EPROMs either. Here are some pictures.

It appears there is a spot for the 10NES chip, but no chip is present.

I found this on Kevin Horton's site, the PCB looks almost identical to mine.
