Actually it would actually make Jon Snow Daenerys's nephew, not brother.

I think also that makes daenyrys his aunt. Because rhaegar is daenyrys' sister. IIRC.

Futureman beat me to the punch
  • no shit, man I was thinking that was her dad for some reason, really is a full time job keeping up with the story line of this show! When they do the flash backs at the beginning sometimes I have no memory of that ever happening. THis summer if it slows down I would love to watch the whole series again

    The music was amazing.

This is what I took away from the episode. The music during the King's Landing intro was beautiful and haunting.

Amazing season finale, can't wait for next season!

this shit is bone chillingly good. Loved the whole scene. No speaking, just music playing with the build up of whats about to happen. Then towards the middle of this track, the children voices, then the violins etc. Just amazing

It has been strongly implied in the book series from much earlier on, and has always made a lot more sense than a guy like Ned Stark cheating on his wife.

(and it would make Jon Snow her nephew, not half-brother)

In the book there is also the implication that Tyrion is her half-sibling, due to the strong potential that his mom was raped by the Mad King.

(also, in the books, Tyrion has two different colored eyes, one of which looks very Targaryan)

Hands down the shittiest death in the series. Lost my favorite character right there... Also hated why they did not give him some huge club / tree stump to swing those fuckers like flees...

The writers use of Wun Wun was very disapointing to me. Until the door scene it was like he wasn't part of the battle.

It was like they had made up their mind of how the battle was going to go, and then remembered they had a giant to write in.

Exactly. Giants were supposed to be warriors. And what he did? Swatted randomly in the air with his fists almost the whole time... Sad, and made me angry. That is one of the things why I hated this episode.

I think some of the odd things like this have to do with getting characters from the books and the show synched back up with where they are supposed to be.

Pretty sure in the books Wun Wun was killed WHEN Jon was murdered initially, so he wouldn't even be there for that fight.

  • I predict online forums will get a lot of mileage out of this meme for years to come:

  • Didnt see a season 7 thread. This season has been so much fun.

Tonights episode was edge of your seat tv. Nervous for tormund the whole time. That drsgon kill was pretty rough to take. When that walker grabbed that spear i knew he was going to get one.

    Freaking ice dragon

still though. The most terrifying enemy in the episode was that dead coca cola zombie bear.

this show is just so good. Cant wait till next weeks finale. Super long wait for season 8 though.
  • There's a general game of thrones thread I kicked up at the beginning of the season.

Dragon white walker. Holy shit. He's going to be breathing ice instead of fire!

Littlefinger is a piece of shit whom I hope dies soon. Pitting the sisters against each other and now Sansa sending Brienne to kings landing.
  • Yep wow what an intense episode, minus the silliness in Winterfell. The scenes north of the wall were simply awesome and I'm shocked at how many survived, although poor Benjen. Jon bent the knee...how will that play when they reveal his origins...

The blue eyed dragon at the end, wow, well we got 2 vs 1 now this should be quite interesting when this all closes out next year.

As for Littlefinger, I'm convinced Arya will take him out with the dagger with Sansa's support (I think it was foreshadowed with Sansa finding the faces).

Looking forward to next Sunday, we all know Cersei will have some trick up her sleeve...but her army is on the slimmer side these days so who knows. Will the Clegane bros face off?
  • Hell of an episode, for sure.

I thought the Easter egg Sam found in the archives was interesting, a week or two ago.

(The one that said raegar had an annulment, so Jon was NOT a bastard)

Since that actually gives Jon the best claim around to the throne.
  • ^Well hopefully he absorbed what Gilly was saying! Definitely will play a factor in S8 it appears.

My dream of Dany, Jon and Tyrion riding the 3 dragons has been spoiled. Also looking less likely we divulge into Tyrion's true roots as speculated (with 7 episodes remaining in total).

And since it's all but official in the show now...consider Jon's name...why isn't there a traditional "H" in his name?

    JON...GON...AEGON

EDIT: P.S. - how will the Ice Dragon come into play?  Obviously dragon on dragon crime, but will Cersei help unleash a slew of scorpion spear launchers?  Tons to think about, might have to rewatch last night's episode.
  • I told my wife around Season 3 that if anything about this show is hard to predict but dragon becoming white flyer is definitely going to happen and dang was I right on the money!
  • I am definitely in the minority as I think this season sucks bad. I loved the first 6 but this one has way too much saving at the last second. One of the things I enjoyed most about this show was how it felt like a real middle ages, nobody is safe. Jon got saved by a miracle 4 times last show. When benjee was on the horse at the end out of nowhere I actually laughed out loud just ridiculous.

Still enjoying the show and will finish it but this season feels too much like an avengers movie
  • Yeah last episode was really dumb imo. Jon should have died. They all should have died. It would have also been more interesting because Winterfell would be torn between Sansa and Arya and Jon couldn't intervene.

Loved the Ice Dragon though, probably one of the cooler things to happen this season.
  • Yeah that was some Lord of the Rings style shit right there, not the Game of Thrones I've come to expect. Literally a pack of invincible, unkillable, popular characters sent off on an impossible mission. Sat in an impossible situation, with the apparent Usain Bolt of Westeros Gendry running an impossible distance in an impossibly short amount of time and literally falling down at the gate (dramaaaa!), across a harsh wilderness no less.

Just everything about the episode was so cliche and not up to the standards of the show. Very disappointing to be honest.

Come on there's no way you fall in a frozen lake in basically the Arctic, GET OUT of the lake, stand ready to fight, hop on a horse and escape. Come on.

  • So whats going to happen next Sunday in the finale guys? I have a feeling we will see the Stark sisters turning on Littlefinger, and something with the wall and the Ice Dragon  . Not sure how the meeting of lords will go?

I think Jaime is going to kill Cersei after she pulls some stupid crap with wildfire.

  • White walker with dragon invades the party. You heard it here first!!

I want to think this, but I don't think that's the way it will go.  Did I miss it or did Cersei say she's pregnant and going to proclaim Jaime as the father?  I feel like his downfall all along has been her, and she's going to be what ends up killing him.  I somehow just think this show isn't going to give him a full redemption, even though that'd be far more enjoyable for me at least, as a viewer.

I keep thinking they're going to kill off Jorah, and man, he's about my favorite character on the show.  When they were on the lake (before everyone, but Thoros, magically survived), I really thought that would be the end of him.  Granted, when Jon offered him the sword, I told my wife "if he takes it, he's dead" thinking he'd get his family sword, get chewed up by the walkers, and in his last breath return it to Jon.

I'm excited for the next episode, I hate that we'll have to wait after that, I'm ready to see how the story ends.
