The local reading in my neighborhood was 101-102 yesterday, with heat index in the 120 range.
The official reading, further in town, was a few degrees lower.
Same kind of nasty today.
Took a late-evening walk with the dog and it felt like I was going into my attic during the day.
(though I'm sure yesterday my attic was 130+ deg)
Not looking forward to another week of this, at all.
I thought I moved far enough north (and close enough to the coast) to avoid the worst of the heat (like I used to get down south).
And stayed far enough south to avoid real snow.
The last few years, we've gotten plenty of both
EDIT: the comment in the link about Phoenix is bizarre, though. I thought we regularly hear about them getting into the 110 - 120 range.
Didn't think 110 was newsworthy for them.
But here I am, back in the Midwest. It's been nice here too. No heatwave yet.
I'll take high temps every day of the week over below freezing ones. No complaints here!
Within reason, sure.
But my bigger complaint between those two alternatives, is that in terms of home HVAC use, cold temperatures are comparably expensive to hot temperatures to regulate, but only extremely high temps are probably going to lead to equipment failure, outright.

I may be hot, but i can get past it and be fine and still carry on.
Bitter cold just sucks. Who wants to wear 9 layers and still freeze their ass off. Heck even regular cold 30-40 sucks.
Also idk about you guys but when i get cold i like cannot function. I have fibromyalgia so that could be why i am so sensitive to cold. But i shiver real bad and i can't even think of anything besides how cold i am and counting the seconds to when i can get warm again.
Add not being to ride my motorcycle and yeah......you can have winter.

Been between the high 80's and high 90's in the Denver area the last several days. After having grown up in Minnesota, the low humidity of a semi-arid environment is awesome (which is also why the swamp cooler is a viable option).

Honestly though the cold does not bother me at "all" anyone ever been ice fishing before?
I walked through fuckin blizzards pretty well on 4-5 feet of ice luggin gear on a sled behind my back with a foot that went through the water with a spare shirt wrapped around it under my boot.
I could picture all you guys 20 feet into the walk just down on the ground all frozen n shit hahahaha.
