I just went and cataloged my DS collection...up to 93 games so far. But about half is loose unfortunately.
I hate loose games...but it's the only way I find DS games anymore...no one keeps the cases...weirdly since it's hard plastic and protects the game...but the DS was marketed at kids so...I guess I get it.
I also uncovered a fake in my collection...bah. Had to look over EVERY DAMN CARTRIDGE to make sure it wasn't fake. I'll know what to look for from now on at least.
It's pretty frustrating that it's so difficult to find complete DS games already. Wish GS didn't automatically toss out cases as soon as they get them. They have some amazing prices but with essentially zero chance at getting a case or manual I usually just avoid picking them up unless it's a deal to good to miss.
The Gamestop by me has started to sell CIB DS games again. I noticed about halfway thru last year. I dunno if its different for each store but its kinda nice to be able to find CIB DS games there again. Was able to find Super Princess Peach, Yoshis Island DS & Konami Arcade Classics there recently! Not one to pick up cart only for DS myself cuz i want complete and dont want to have to worry about tracking down a case and manual later.

Wow, I hope my local GS starts this again as well, though I kinda doubt it based on the space.
Yeah I was in an out of town GS last weekend and they had a suspiciously high number of complete DS games that were like-new, but used. Picked up Canvas Curse and considered a number of others
Yeah, they've been getting in some decent titles, passed on FF Tactics A2, Castlevania & Mega Man titles cuz i had em but its nice to see them again! i'd say theres usually only around 20 so im wondering if they are just local trade ins or what. Little bummed they sorta phased out PSP around the same time tho

Yeah i feel ya, im goin cib only and ive passed up some great games because either no manual or cart only. local chain (disc replay/traders) has been good to me consistently pricing games lower because theres not as big of a demand for original ds stuff and no upcharge for cib. What was the fake may i ask?
Kirby Super Star Ultra. Sadly it took me way to long to figure out it was a fake...I even had an extra case and manual I could have looked at that IS real to figure it out but...it was in my selling pile so I didn't notice till now.
I pick up loose DS games because of the price (cheap af) and because it's the only thing I can find. Pawn shops seem to be the last places to find CIB games still...even then their loose games VASTLY outnumber the CIB ones.
Just means I need to go on an ebay shopping spree to get empty cases with the manuals...not fun. Really not fun when you can't find empty cases with manuals for the game...like Izuna 1...is Izuna rare or something? I'm having a hell of a time trying to find a case for it...Izuna 2 no problem (but I don't own the game yet so...might as well buy CIB), but the first game is like...loose or CIB only on ebay right now.
I stupidly sold off my DS collection a few years ago (actually, I sold off all my stuff unfortunately). Recently I found all of my cases complete from my DS stuff and would like to get the loose carts to rebuild. However I'm terrified of the amount of fake DS stuff out there.

I usually wouldnt say it but gamestop may be a decent place to look for cart only DS stuff. They usually have a decent selection thats resonably priced! May even be able to get in o some buy 2 get 1 sales!
Right now they are running a promotion when you spend $40 cad or more, you get free shipping. Worldwide. Our dollar is crap now, take advantage of it. They also have some valuable psp titles restocked like Hexyz Force and Crimson Gem Saga.

Man, Infinite Space is barely gonna be worth anything before 2 long. Im glad i sold my sealed copy back when it was still really obscure! May need to snag Hexyz Force again. I sold my copy a year ago or so. Thanks for the heads up! Oh and you wanna trade Izuna 2 inserts?
No problem. They've got some other cool things too.
Atelier Escha & Logy Plus Limited Edition is still in stock. This is a Vita game that was only available as a limited edition purchased through NISA's store. You couldn't get regular editions of it. It's on VGP.ca for $89.99 canadian (so about $69 usd!). Meanwhile, sealed copies seem to auction for $90 usd. DO we have a vita thread that this mention might be more helpful?

Wow im surprised it was kirby, but it goes for a fair amount so makes sense.
Just picked up these two, anyone play nostalgia? Looks pretty cool
I played Nostalgia when it first came out. I found it rather boring and forgettable to be honest. I think the title was playing at "a return to old turn based RPGs" which I guess it did but I found it to be pretty generic overall. That's not to say you won't like it though. You may like it. I just don't remember much about it other than the fact that I don't remember much about it.
Fair enough, i literally knew nothing about it when i saw it and it was only 8$ so figured id give it a shot. Kinda missed out on ds during its lifespan, and discovering lil gems i had no idea about has been pretty cool. Thanks guys for yer input
DS has a lot of hidden gems. I could name probably 200 good games right off the top of my head.
By the way. I didn't mean Nostlagia is a bad game, but I guess some games stick with me, others don't. I just don't remember it at all other than I didn't find it to be memorable. Lol. If I thought it was bad I'd have remembered it more actually.
Haha i completely understand, so many games out there the middle of the road isnt so memorable. Not memorable is much better than bad haha.
Speaking of bad..
I passed on the sushi game like 6 times and finally bit, really weird and i dig it. Reminds me a little of a game that would be on the gameboy camera, with its dsi functionality. Something that would have been better as dsiware hah.
So I just checked. I have 77 DS games currently, mostly RPGs, all CIB with another 3 on their way from Canada.
It's been a very long time since I've bought a DS game, just don't see them around and more and when I do they're pretty much still MSRB if not higher.
But soon I'll get to add Nostalgia, Wizard of Oz, and Etrian Odyssey 2 to the collection.
Heres a fun little game to play! which reverse cover art poster do you have for Izuna 2? Theres 4, 2 that would of randomly came with the game, an amazon exclusive 1 and a gamestop exclusive 1. Heres a little snippet about it:
So opened up my Izuna to see which poster I had. I'm very happy with this. The blue one is part of the revesable cover. The beige one is a seperate one-sided poster on really nice textured paper.
^^^Oh sweet! Well that article did say that G-Stop was handing out a seperate poster with the game or somethin so that must be what that is! Lucky!! O_O
Oh wow, you're right Daria. I haven't checked my Izuna 2 in ages but distinctly remembered the Milk one. It seems hard to forget i guess, hah. That and the nice paper its on is also hard to forget. I remembered it being separate, but not that the art insert had anything on its back. I just checked mine and it is the same as yours, heart hands.
Hastings is liquidating, and had 30% off used games. Some of the new/sealed DS stuff was marked as used for some reason so I was able to get Super Dodgeball Brawlers, Hotel Giant, Super Monkey Ball Touch and Go, and Elite Force Unit 77 for about $11 total

If you passed on the first re-stocking of Infinite Space by VGP.ca, they recently (a week ago or so?) did another re-stocking of the game.

I got it last year for Xmas, and still haven't touched it I really should give it a go
