WAY shorter than I was expecting. It's also a lot smaller than I thought it would be, too.
The six foot extension is too expensive. Maybe daisy-chaining more of the 1m extensions would be cost effective, if a bit fugly.

Highly effective. I do hope Nintendo installs a steel plate in the bottom of these so they don't slide easily. I'm assuming only a very small PCB exists, with possibly a daughterboard for the controller ports. Even if the plastic is thick, a gentle controller cable tug could easily slide it off the table, rubber pads for feet or no.
If Nintendo were to theoretically release another NES Classic Mini, again with 30 games, which other games would you like to see (presuming there are no legal rights issues)?
If they were to release a Famicom Classic Mini, the same question applies.
I think it's more likely that they'd release a SNES Classic Mini first though.

I am actually curious if Nintendo is planning a "Famicom Classic Mini" for the Japanese market. If so I'd like to get one for the iconic styling, plus it's bound to have a few Japan exclusives on it.
I think future runs of Classic Minis are likely if the first is a smashing success. Maybe v2 have 40 games total with 25 games from the original plus 15 new ones? I would expect a lot of crossover between editions if you gotta collect them all. And SNES would be a natural progression. Nintendo would be silly not to.
I would definitely like to see Wario's Woods and Yoshi's Cookie on future releases. I have a soft spot for puzzlers! Maybe DK: Complete Edition as a hidden Easter Egg. Hit some hidden controller combo to access it. Definitely Castlevania III if the emu can handle it.
For SNES Classic, definitely give us Super Mario World, PilotWings, FZero, MarioKart, All Stars, Tetris Attack (prolly won't happen, but I can dream???), Pak Attack, Ms Pacman, DKC123, Super Metroid, Super Punchout, Contra III, Castlevania IV, Super Street Fighter II, Earthworm JIM, SMRPG, Kirby AllStar, Kirby Dreamland 3, Zelda Link to the Past, Zombies Ate my Neighbors, Earthbound, Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, Soul Blazer, one of the Final Fantasies, Megaman X, and Yoshi's Island + Starfox if they can get FX working.

A Famicom mini could sell in the west too. Include SMB2(J), Holy Diver, Earthbound Zero/Beginnings, etc.

Yes, I think the Famicom Classic Mini would be enticing due to the Japan exclusive games it could provide. Although it it were just released in Japan, I would presume that there would be no translations.
I would have so much fun with the SNES - Super Mario Kart, Super Street Fighter II, Kirby Super Star, Fzero, etc. Lot's of childhood memories

Unless I'm missing something,it won't allow you to preorder because it doesn't have an option to choose a store for pickup nor does it have an option to choose a shipping method. Awesome.

Only to be sold out again within minutes. This kind of crap is what zapped away what little interest I had in Amiibos when they first came out. And it's already started with this. I just want to preorder one and forget about it and have it shipped to me without having to fight idiots at the stores for it.
Yeah,I saw another UK site that had it listed for $120. Unless I get lucky,I'll just have to wait until March when the hysteria is over and Nintendo decides to not create shortages anymore.

Ever considered it's more popular than they expected? Also, they're going to release pre-orders so they can get an idea of production numbers needed.
This thing is blowing up everywhere and getting mainstream news coverage. Not surprised it's sold out, and will see more released no doubt.
The scalping is just bullshit, though. Just people looking to make a buck as always.
Just wait until all those people who DO get one are looking for the rest of the games they want.

It's all going to come down to the same thing as the Amiibos.....scalpers buy a ton of them, jack up the price on ebay, and basically try to force you to buy it at their sky high prices or else fight and claw in stores to be one of the lucky indivduals who manage to get one in stores. Pass. I'll just get one for retail in March I suppose when the idiocy has subsided

Buying a few video games isn't that expensive.
Then it wouldn't have much of an impact on the hobby.
Once they've plunked down $60 for a Classic Mini, they'd have to plunk down another $60 to get a working original NES (I suppose they could go clone, but that won't matter much.) If they only buy a few games, and probably cheapos like Bases Loaded, I don't see that doing anything to prices. Most would probably balk at plunking down $35 for Contra.

I don't blame you for that. I wait out stuff like this, too.
I still don't have a WiiU if that counts...

I think most of them will look at where the price of entry is now and not bother.
