I did get one, and order total of $63.59.  I don't scalp and flip modern stuff.
  • Nothing in canada yet ...
  • I just ordered one as I wanted someone else on here to have a shot. I do want two (one to play, one to display) but I'll just wait for the next time that pre orders become available.
  • How did the preorders go in USA? In Finland lot of companies opened up the preorders but there was no "maximum quanitities" info, some shops tooks a lot of preorders I believe, just thinking if they really get that many...

Depends on the company. Some allow unlimited, some limit to one or two or whatever.

Oh, I read that wrong. Sorry.

I don't know the total number, but the outlets have been selling out within hours.

No problem, got it. Just wondering if stores here end up fcking up their preorders and not getting enough product in the end... Well see, atleast I am in the top 10 preorders in one of the good stores, so I should get two of them when they come out...

And just like that, Sega/Argames is coming out with another clone console this holiday season, this time with 80 Genesis games instead of 40. Otherwise the same exact console they've had past years, so no saves, no HDMI, only one sound chip, etc. But at least it takes Genesis carts and can use OEM controllers. There is supposed to be a handheld version too. I'm sure it will draw in a few sales.

You'll change your tune real quick when you hear the ear-grating audio on those POS. I'll take a Retro Trio any day over that schite.

I saw a video on Youtube and was appalued at the horrendous sound quality of the Atgames SEGA console, that alone is enough reason for me not to buy it.

    Dammit! Foiled again!

How many items does the cart system allow customers to add? I believe there should be a strict limit of two per order on stuff like this. One to keep and one to gift for Christmas. Anybody buying ten or more copies in a single order only plans on scalping for profit.

That said, I noticed a pattern here. Early Tuesday morning, around 8ish central time, preorders go on sale the second week in a row. I am seeing a pattern here. Tuesday morning of next week, I will be ready!

Aaand I prolly shouldn't have posted that publicly...

After I saw Gamma's post I considered pming you,but you weren't online. I got lucky that I was able to see that post almost right after it posted which allowed me to snag one. So this round of preordering lasted a little longer....like 1-2 hours?

Same. Ordered one this morning, hoping to order another from Amazon or Best Buy whenever they go up. I really do love the retro style packaging!

No doubt! That packaging! I have all those places bookmarked for when they do come back up for preorder.

I'm just hoping they will be packaged safely. The last few things I've preordered were damaged due to absolutely no protection. They just threw my items in a box and called it good. Thanks Target!
  • I'll be buying one for traveling, to be honest. That and trying to get other friends into retro gaming.

So it looks like TRU pulled it from the website. The link leads to this:

    No products found.

    Interesting...

  • I have a CRT in the bedroom. I'm interested in getting one to hook up to the living room flat screen.

So are the people who previously preordered this item through the TRU website still valid?

I....guess? I haven't gotten anything that says the order has been cancelled. I'm thinking that maybe they are modifying the listing or something like that. They would be absolutely insane to pull something permanently off their site that will be a huge cash cow for them.
  • USA Amazon finally has a product page, but it says "Not available."

Did they already do preorders? I know several of Amazon's international sites already did.

Amazon and Best Buy both have placeholder pages up. Neither has yet released any preorders to the best of my knowledge. You can sign up for email notifications on both websites though.

  • It's still not on Toys R Us's website yet they did charge my account for the pre order,so I would imagine it will be back up sometime.
  • I'm pretty sure I will be buying one of these when available, but I'm sorely tempted to follow this guys example....

Whenever I've imagined homebrewing a modern day cartridge system, my mind has always gone to an SD card housed inside a shell. Having an NFC tag pull the game file off an internal memory card is a very clever solution!
