Breath of the Wind Wii U/NX vs Twilight Princess Gamecube/Wii
Just thinking lately since NX is coming out in March along with Breath of the Wind simultaneously on Wii U and NX. It's very similar to how Twilight Princess came out on both Gamecube and Wii at the same time during Wii's launch window.
In terms of value, which game is worth more and why? Is Twilight Princess Gamecube worth more due to less copies being made of it overall (due to putting a new console out and all), or was the graphics superior to Wii since they had more time to work on it as opposed to Wii version? They both came out at the same time, just in different generations so does that make a difference on the values?
It's going to probably be similar to Breath of the Wild on Wii U and NX. Two games released at the same time on two different console generations. Will the NX be such a huge improvement over Wii U that that version would be the superior one, or will Wii U be better because of the already dedicated fanbase and the fact they have more time to work on it than on the NX version? Just some questions floating around in my head. I plan to buy an NX anyway and already have a fine Wii U library, but I don't really see a point in buying duplicate copies of games, which is why I'm wondering aloud.
I suppose I should also ask, is there more content in the Gamecube or the Wii version of Twilight Princess, or is it exactly the same? Extra things that maybe couldn't fit on a Gamecube disk? Maybe something similar would happen with BOTW and the NX might be able to hold more than a Wii U disk or since it's a new console they'd release extras with it as well that won't be in another version. Just pondering.

I've only ever played the Wii version because it's the one I own. The controls took some getting used to but once you get the hang of them, it's a great game. It's actually one of my favorite Zelda games along with OoT. Would I prefer to use a controller? Yep but tbh the core game is the exact same thing on both versions. The differences are minor: http://www.ign.com/wikis/the-lege...
An entire mirrored world is hardly minor:
"Mirrored Environments
Following on the heels of the dominant hand switch-a-roo, Twilight Princess on the Wii is basically a mirrored version of the original on GameCube. This means that left and right, or east and west, directions are reversed. The Wiki walkthrough was written using the Wii version, so GameCube players must use caution when reading latitudinal directions (i.e. left means right, west means east, and so on). Also, the attached images in the walkthrough also reflect the Wii version."
Playing both versions would likely have given me vertigo on the second playthrough, spoken from someone who's lost their ass more than a few times to Mirror Mode in Mario Kart. Does the Wii-U version share the GC or Wii chirality? Be funny if they pulled a similar prank with BOTW.

Right but as I stated, I've only played the Wii version so that's all I know. Making something that was left and now right doesn't matter to someone who never played it when it was on the left. That's what I meant when I said they're minor differences. Now of course I can completely understand what you mean if you're used to the GC version and then try to replay it on Wii. The Wii version is all I know and I enjoy TP for what it is on that system, a great Zelda experience.
I think we'll have to wait to see what the NX has to offer. Wind Waker was amazing with the tablet controller, so I imagine that it would be more or less the same for the new Zelda on the U. Having said that, I think the NX will be similar with the main game on the screen and the menu/HUD on the potable portion of the console (if the NX is going to be what I suspect it'll be). Another thing to think about will be cartridge vs disc collecting as the NX will likely be a cart. I think both will be relatively mass produced. While TP for GC goes for more I still wouldn't consider it that expensive. TP for Wii is basically a budget title and you also have to consider the ridiculous number of Wiis that sold. Wii U of BotW version will definitely be limited compared to TP for Wii and likely less than the NX.
Also I think most people at the time either planned on buying a Wii or were lucky enough to own own while TP Wii was out and figured they might as well buy the "newer" version over the "older" one which is exactly what I did, then picked up the GC one several years later. Pretty sure Nintendo had that in mind as well, thus didn't push out as many GC vs Wii discs. As time went one most of us got rather tired of the Wii motion controls and wanted to use a controller thus to do so required the GC version and so supply and demand takes over.
I don't expect this to be the case this round with BotW aside, as mentioned before, us die hard collectors that must own anything and everything with Zelda on it, however I do expect a shorter supply of WiiU vs NX for obvious reasons.
But in any case, I prefer the GC one simply because of the control.
Twilight Princess - just play it on Wii U
I found a TP on GC for around 47 bucks at GameXChange but I passed because I plan on getting it for Wii-U.
As for BOTW, I haven't decided yet. I may double dip or just get one or the other. NX is definitely a day one purchase for me as was the Wii-U.
