Clear acrylic Game Boy case.

So yeah I picked this up today with the black Gameboy for 6 bucks. Struck me as odd as I havent seen anything other than the usual psychedelic box for gameboys and this has a nintendo seal, although I guess it could just be a sticker. Is this how these gameboys were sold?

  • Yea those were the boxes used for the color series and the clear gameboys.
  • Did they have a sleeve or an insert over them or anything Penguin? I couldn't find a picture. Thanks for the info though.
  • If I'm not mistaken, those were used for rental cases to keep the units from getting damaged.

All the "Play It Loud" series Gameboys were sold in these clear cases.  The case should have a paper insert in it though.  Heres a pic of one with the insert
